When I was in London last I got caught up in the aftermath of a knife fight. Frankly I was shocked to see that level of crime. I just didn't think it happened in England tbh..lol. Whenever I think of England I always imagine vicars in small parishes walking half mile to get milk in glass jars...lol

When I first heard about the knife crime in the UK, I knew I could never live there. If you shoot me, hey, there's nothing I could've done. But you can see a knife coming, and I'd just feel like an idiot for getting stabbed by some hoodie-clad youth who sounds like the bastard lovechild of Eliza Doolittle and Bob Marley.

I always say, even though I'd probably get ass kicked, I don't know if I'd be intimidated by a black guy with a British accent.

Speaking of England's knifing incidents, they've recently caught a female serial killer there who went on a killing/stabbing spree of ten days resulting in the deaths of three or four guys.Forgot her name.

Though I assume for the most part you are kidding, your quote is interesting because I never see/hear white people taking the idiotic stuff some white people do to heart as if it represents all of them. But as a few people have already said many black people do exactly that when it comes to idiotic stuff done by other blacks.

Heh, brings to mind an old routine by the comedian Talent. Can't post it here due to language but he talks about when the D.C. sniper case came up, black people just KNEW it was a white guy: "That's what they do...eat people and snipe!!"

Then when it came out it was a black guy:

it's funny you mention that. they had FBI profilers are on the news during that shooting spree who were speculating that it was a white guy. they hadn't even considered otherwise. when i found out it was a black guy, i was just impressed at how decent his aim was/how evil he was.

I never thought of "guilt by association" in terms of race until I met a black classmate two years ago. I went to see her in Chicago several times and I invited her to visit me in the far suburbs any time she wanted. She snorted and said she would be arrested.

I knew that things were not perfect, racially, in the US but that things had greatly improved. She had a different opinion. As I said before, I do know older people that are racist but believed that my generation is much better. It irritated me that she instantly assumed that my town is so racist.

We do have inter-racial couples out here and no one says anything. Or at least, not that I've heard. She did eventually come to visit and there were no racial incidents.

I justify laziness by saying it's a genetic result of my ancestors being forced to do unpaid labor for centuries.

I shouldn't have to defend enjoying fried chicken. It's downright delicious.

The only stereotype I worked to actively disapprove is black people are bad tippers. I don't know how true this is any longer, but when I worked for the Hamburger Hamlet it was very true! t: I always tip well just so people don't stereotype me.
