Dear Brotha,

As a white guy, is it racist or insensitive if I sing a reggae song in a Jamaican accent?

Not a brotha, but would that be any more racist than singing a country song in a Southern accent?

I would say only if you are specifically singing the song to mock its cultural origins.

Will the Jheri curl ever make a comeback?

It almost came back this year. I told my friend that if the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl I'd get a box or a jheri curl. It was one of those bets that I made last year thinking there was no way in hell it happened.

Jheri curls had better not make a comeback, if only for the sake of car seats and sofas everywhere.

My entire life I've been accused of having a jheri curl. Even when I whip out my childhood pics some people say my mother put product in my hair. REALLY? When I ask why can't you believe it's my hair they always say I've never seen a dark skinned person with curly hair. My mom is very light with caucasian hair. So my sister my brothers and I all have curly hair.

Funny thing is, girls could always tell it was my hair. Black girls I mean. They say they can tell by the roots. In high school the girls would always ask to play in my hair. That was :awesome:!

 They never saw it so it doesn't exist. Jeez...

That isn't a requirement lol

This thread shall not die! I use my magical voodoo word that brings all the black men out of the wood work...

...

Booty.

Case in point.

*looks for booty as well*

There goes Kane with his racism again. For the last time, Kane, not all black people are crackheads!

All I heard was booty...crack. :o

Also, I think BET should be responsible for all the racism in the world. :o

Why do white people love Wayne Brady?

Because he makes...Bryant Gumbel look like Malcolm X.

Now, before people get too over sensitive about this, I ask that you keep an open mind.

My closest friend was the inspiration behind this thread. So often does he say " go ask someone else.". With Black History month coming up, I'm sure people would like to ask questions about the impact African Americans have had on us as a race.

This shouldn't be racist, it should be about learning more from your fellow man.

Questions could range from culture, music types, certain slang, misunderstood myths, and food.

Let's begin..

Deal. But it gets closed March 1st.
