Dear Brotha,

Speak on your experience/opinion about the stereotype of Caucasian women being more "freaky" than African-American women.

I do know one thing, if you're with a white woman and she tells you she's got a racist father it maybe a good idea to leave her alone.

Because chances are she's with you just to piss him off.

That's like one of our main purposes in life. To piss off non-black fathers.

What's a nubian?

A person from Nubia, which was an actual place in Africa near Egypt.

I've never been a fan of black people (specifically in America) picking and choosing among the richest looking ancient African cultures and pretending it's their own. I've long since accepted that whichever African cultural group my ancestors came from was never tracked by slave traders, I'll never know what it was, and pretending they came from some ancient kingdom on the eastern arm of the continent whose collapse predates the Transatlantic slave trade that occurred on the west isn't doing anybody any favors.

So would you say that being a black man in Britian isn't as stressful as being one here in the States?
Is being a black american stressful?

I don't feel stressed.
Yeah, my mom is insane about having all her meat well done. Burnt to a crisp because she feels if it's not cooked all the way she might get some kind of worm.
So is my mum. I think its a older generation thing.

Lots of people older people think you will die if you eat rare meat or something.

I think this is the 2nd or 3rd time you've answered that question for me, all in separate threads.

Yikes. My rants are starting to repeat themselves.

Okay maybe I shouldn't have used the term "deadbeat dad" but missing fathers is an epidemic in the black community.

64% of black kids are fatherless.

SIXTY FOUR PERCENT!

It's only 25% for white kids.

http://www.fatherhood.org/media/fatherhood-statistics

And that percentage is still based on economics.. Like I mentioned the lower income cannot pay for their children. In addition when a Mother (custodial parent) gets assistance from the state then the parental father(Non-Custodial) automatically (or it seems that way) becomes a fugitive because the State wants their money back. So he hides and stays away in fear. Then that builds resentment. Then abandonment

If they, low income fathers, felt they had a financial choice that percentage, while not at 0% but ,IMO would be more in line of the White paternal counterparts..

I hate that whole 'roots' thing in amongst black people outside africa. I find it disingenuous.

Sub-saharan africa is one of the least archaeologically studied regions on earth.

Most African-Americans, Afro-caribbeans, black south americans are a mixture of various african tribes, ethnic groups, ect. Plus 75% percent have some European or American tribal ancestry. We are all basically biracial.

Some guys go in for the whole for 'forbidden fruit' thing. I think its an unspoken fetish with black males dating girls of another race who's parents disapprove.

While this may be true my "brotha," there is still a chance that us in the Diaspora have ancestral roots in one of the major empires that emerged on the west side of pre-colonial Africa. Even if we can't trace it back to one of the big three of Ghana, Mali, or Songhay, there's a great chance a lot of us have some kind of small ties to a smaller but still wealthy kingdom such as Benin.

But considering the slaves that were traded we those in poverty I don't pretend to act as if my ancestry was full of warrior scientists that just got stolen by The Man while charting the stars for Africa's space exploration.

Oh it can be, especially if you're one who's going against the usual stereotypes people have of us.
I don't even worry about those people with negative stereotypes of black people.

If your stupid enough to pidgeon hole an entire group of people on race negatively then your not worth my time.
But considering the slaves that were traded we those in poverty I don't pretend to act as if my ancestry was full of warrior scientists that just got stolen by The Man while charting the stars for Africa's space exploration.
The people who make me laugh are the ones who make out that Africa was all the land of milk and honey before the old white devils showed up.

There was still the same tribal/ethnic battles that were going on now. Its why so you so many african leaders were willing to sell their rivals/enemies into slavery.

The people who make me laugh are the ones who make out that Africa was all the land of milk and honey before the old white devils showed up.

Everybody knows that the entire continent of Africa was one big peaceful kingdom filled with nothing but wealthy warrior-nobles until the white men appeared and rounded everybody up with butterfly nets.

A lot of Afro-centrics take it too far. Africa was definitely full of large empires with well built own societal structures before European imperialism, but it wasn't like every place was super rich with nothing but flying cars.

I would like to see this movie. :o

Dear Brotha,

Why did you think it was a good idea to actually wear Cross Colours.

It would be a very meh, forgettable movie, that will nonetheless spawn a low budget made-in-Canada TV series on SyFy that somehow gains a rabid fanbase that nobody can explain.

it was the style for "us" back in the late 80's/90's. I remember my overalls.. had the boots to match, hat turned to the side...awwww:woot:

LOOKING BACK NOW..HMMM I MUST HAVE LOOKED FUNNY. IT WASNT JUST ME DAMNIT:csad:

I'm old enough to remember kriss kross with the backwards clothes which people copied.

I had flashing light LA Gears, tie dye teenager mutant ninja turtles t-shirt and stonewash jeans. Thats what I wore as a kid when my mum and dad let me pick my own clothes.

Africa as a whole may not have been some peaceful utopia but some of the indigenous cultures were truly beautiful and one with nature. Now I love my cable tv, video games, and fast food but there's something noble and true about the ways those people lived.

White media in the past portrayed them as idiotic cannibals because they want us to be ashamed of that connection but we could learn alot from those cultures and their simple ways.

You know damn well Hollywood wouldn't want to do a movie about it. They'd find a way to put some white guy in it that teaches them all these things from the future. Edward Zwick would direct it.

I was 5. That's my excuse.

I don't buy the low income defense.

If you love the mother of your child you do whatever you can to stay in the picture but too many black men are willing to impregnate anyone, not just the love of their life.

Women should never consider having a child with someone who won't marry her. That's just begging for single motherhood. If he hasn't been committed to you for at least 4 years keep using birth control. It would save our entire community alot of heartache.
