It couldn't have released in December either, especially not with MI:4. Warners had that film booked already and Sony didn't have a film out that would cater to the right crowd.

They just missed 100 million viewers.

The super bowl is so cluttered now with short commercial spots it could be easily missed. Probably not really worth it in the long run.

They can spend 200 million for the ASM production but not 3 million for exposure?

I think the toy looks pretty good. Maybe a little too much light skin but otherwise I think it looks good. Will definitely look much better than we think on the big screen.
