Not trying to be a jerk, but what do you like about the movie? Honest question.

No jerk question. That's a good one. Elfman score, Batmobile, Batwing, Jack Palance, and that Bob goon guy.

Didn't care for most of the main characters. Nicholson was a weak unscary Joker. Too much Prince dancing, covering his Joker face in flesh make up, and the art interest thing was lame. Hated he killed the Bat folks too. Batman and Bruce were boring. No development. Vicki was token damsel in distress. Alfred was ruined because of the Vicki thing. Commish Gordon was a pointless buffoon. Knox was such a prat. That bit at the end when he's running around with a gas mask trying to hit Joker's men with a baseball bat. Oy vey!

Fair enough, I love it, but it's not perfect.

- The dance scene is pretty embarrassing (especially if you watch it with other people in the room. Should I laugh? Smile? Take a trip to the toilet?).

- The car chase. Slooow...

- Vicki Vale's screaming. Someone should make a montage of it.

- Batman blowing up Axis.

I'm sure there's more.

But I disagree with you on the Joker. The part where he shakes his middle-aged ass creeps me the hell out.

Thanking you for the nice friendly reply.

Ear plugs recommended for the Vicki screaming.

Ha maybe that's what was creepy. It was middle aged ass being shaken.

See you soon.

Not in this thread, not anymore. I've returned in the past, but it's never going to happen again because you guys are so whiny it's incredible.

I'll probably need to watch this again pretty soon.
I always liked the 'not sure' moment in Wayne's manor charity ball.
Nah that wasn't naive that was just him being conned by a proper professional criminal organization the Black Glove. Readers didn't even know she was a bad one til they revealed it.
And Bruce told her he knew all along.
What a depressing story.

Anyway, I think it was wrong for Alfred to let Vicky into the Batcave, but Bruce WAS about to let her know he was Batman. Of course, we have no idea if Alfred was really aware of that, so it comes off as this huge breach of security. Even if Alfred knew, I don't think he should have let Vicky into the cave without permission.

I gues it does but let me throw something at you, Alfred knows Bruce better than anybody. It's possible that was in there as Alfred knew it was for the best to let Vicky know, he may also have known that Bruce was conflicted about telling her and that he needed to shall we say pull the band aid off.

Wow, Keehar. Apart from a thread in which you spend a lot of time telling everyone that Avengers is better than Man of Steel, this is the thread in which you post most regularly.

Quite a commitment for a film you dislike.

Should I be creeped out you stalked my profile?

Not unless you are usually intimidated by even fleeting curiosity towards you.

I really have no time for people like him, living to hate. It's just so sad, it's a waste of time to hate so much.

Letting her into the Batcave is indeed stupid but I saw this movie when I was like 5 and was my intro to Batman not any cartoon, comics or the old show. Hence, I took everything at face value that this was and is the BATMAN. Of course it is not, and people are correct in some of the holes, flaws and what not. But with growing up on this it doesn't bother me that much.

Never cared for Vicki. I do like the dialogue in the scene in how he doesn't know what to think of this, it's something he has to do. No big exposition and origin. Though in all honesty I am tired of ALL romances with Batman, because we know how they end.

I don't mind Alfred letting Vicki into the batcave, any more than I mind Batman telling Rachel Dawes he is Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins.

No offense Rodrigo, buddy ol pal, but it seems like you're trying a little too hard to love this movie and diss all the others now that we're done with Nolan. You say it was "brilliantly setup" and then you agree that it was pretty rushed. Which one is it?

People can change their mind though, time can do many things for a movie. I loved Batman Begins and the Dark Knight but now no so muc. I still really like them but I honestly think Batman '89 is still the best Batman movie and I didn't think that back in 2008.

As long as that's all it is. But we know you just did it to try and make fun of me.

Don't worry I got a tough skin. Takes more than fan jabs to phase me :woot:

Too right.

I don't mind Alfred letting Vicki into the batcave, any more than I mind Batman telling Rachel Dawes he is Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins.

Rachel was a childhood buddy he knew all his life. Vicki was a newbie in Gotham photographer he had a boozy one nighter with.

By "all his life" you mean childhood + running into her for one day years later after dropping out of college + running into her years later after training in the mountains?

They hardly spent a consistent amount of time together in order to get to know one another well.

It's million more worth of time he spent with her than he did with Vicki for the night. Rachel was still the same gal he always knew. And he had been keeping tabs on her since he came back.

Years >>>>> one night.

So what's the qualification date for inviting a woman into your cave? Six months? Ten years? Three decades?

Honestly ThePhantasm don't waste your time

How long Batman should wait before he tells like his biggest secret he has that if it got out could get him killed and end his Batman career to a chick he doesn't hardly know?

Hmm. I feel as if I'm having deja vu.

I will say this, I think letting Vicki in could work if this was something like a TDKR Batman, where he's like 50 and been batman for 10-20+ years. Where he's near the end and Alfred is just fed up. Because Batman (1989) takes places pretty early in his career. The cops aren't sure of him, Gordon's "oh. my. god." response was definitely his first sighting of Batman.

Oh geez not this again. Have you gone and asked them to check out my profile like I told you yesterday? I bet you haven't. Go and do it now. I'm getting sick of being accused of being this person. It's not funny any more.

What do you mean Alfred's fed up with him? Like fed up with him being alone in old age?
