Right, small update on the writing.

I'll give a sneak peek at the birth of Scarecrow over the weekend. It's pretty creepy... It's where he returns to the farm from his childhood. Initially, he was meant to have murdered his aunt as a child, like in the comics... but I felt it more powerful if he returns to it after many years and interacts with her, terrorising her, then murdering her. It fits in with Terry meeting Bruce and the birthing of heroes and villains, due to family members. Crane's aunt is responsible for his descent into madness, as she's a religious fanatic who tortured him as a child, telling him to fear the Lord.
There's a lot of messed up religious imagery going into it, as Crane comes to associate the image of Christ on the cross with the image of the Scarecrow tied up in the field, next to the spinning windmill... since the spinning of the blades symbolises rebirth (thank you, Silent Hill!).

Even Bruce, Terry and the giant bat are in the image of the Holy Trinity in one scene!

And I've put more imagery in Selina's introduction. Where she's dressed very demure and conservative, since she's no longer the sexualised Catwoman. That's left to her gang of young girls. This is a statement to the standard that I think is happening/happened to the industry; the treatment of older starlets and the sexualization of teens.

It's a very dark story, so bare this in mind :p

Also, I've rewrote scenes to include Harold Allnut, a substitute for Igor from the Frankenstein/Dracula movies.

Bruce likes that "he doesn't talk"

Very cool, looking forward to reading it mate

I kinda took a hiatus for a while from posting on the Hype boards, but it was calling for me to come back. Those of you that remember my posts recall my avid love for Batman 1989. A few months ago I finally got the piece done that I've been waiting ten plus years to get and I wanted to share it with you guys.

Great tattoo.
Who was the artist who did it for you?:word:

Yeah always confused me as a kid. "So gangsters own a chemical company?" But then that same chemical company created Joker so my child logic was like "Of course." Bad guys own a chemical company because it houses chemical goo that can transform people into super-villains.

I always assumed that Grissom designated one of his men to operate it as a legitimate business with some illegal shenanigans on the side. What didn't make sense to me was why Grissom would have any reference to himself at Axis if he didn't want Dent or the GPD to know that it had criminal connections?

An excerpt from Kim Basinger's 1991 interview with Lawrence Grobel for Movieline:

Does she sound needlessly bitter in some parts, here (especially the "rape" part)!?

Indeed, that was very silly of her to equate that situation with rape.

They have released a trailer for Batman the Lego movie, it's my guess that we will see Billy D. Williams as Two-Face!! (in Lego form..that is)

Possible - hasn't it been said that the film will pay homage to various iterations of Batman from throughout the decades?

Here's that UK VHS Batman advert video I said I was going to upload :D

Oh, and by the way... can ANYBODY, ANYWHERE, figure out those damn riddles at the end of the video?!!!

Prince dies aged 57 at home in Minneapolis, publicist confirms

The Telegraph said:
Police in Minnesota are investigating a fatality at Paisley Park, the estate and recording studio belonging to Prince.

According to TMZ, police confirmed a response to a medical call on Thursday morning. The crime lab and medical examiner are on the scene, but the identity of the deceased is unknown.

The Carver County Sheriff's department in Chanhassen, the area of Minnesota where Paisley Park is based, told the US entertainment website that there had been a fatality and they were notifying next of kin.
Prince spent a short period of time in hospital in Illinois over the weekend after his private jet made an emergency landing in the early hours of Friday morning.

His representatives told TMZ that the 57-year-old had been suffering from a "bad bout of flu". The musician then returned to Paisley Park on Saturday.

Journalists at Paisley Park have reported police vehicles entering the estate.

R.I.P. Prince

Even though the Batman soundtrack is the only Prince album I own. I still dig it. I'll listen to it in honor of him.

Fanboys tend to downplay or overlook the role Prince and the soundtrack played in making B89 a cultural event film. The Batdance video played around the clock on MTV and he was as closely associated with the film and Batmania as Danny Elfman.

It got me hooked on Batman!

Truly the man made music to make art to.

Agreed. The Prince songs, which were specifically written for this movie, never bothered me. Sure it’s slightly dated but the songs were utilized well in the context of the movie, imo. Heck I remember buying the Prince Batman soundtrack 13 years ago at some mall. That’s how much of an impact it had in the movie and on me b/c normally I don’t buy various artists soundtracks and the like.

The timeless appeal of Prince’s dance-happy tunes for ‘Batman’ and the Joker

The Washington Post said:
ACCORDING TO Hollywood lore, Tim Burton never wanted to include pop music in his 1989 film “Batman,” starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. The director preferred the symphonic score of composer Danny Elfman.

Burton thought that pop tunes not only would clash with his “Batman’s” darker vibes, but also would date his movie years later. Yet while Elfman would score the film, Warner Bros. executives pressed their point and won: They had Prince signed to their music label, and so the “Purple Rain” star would be brought into this creativity of this “movie event.”

As a result, viewers were treated not only to the “Batdance,” but also to a couple of Prince tracks that made it into the movie itself: some of them snippets that temporarily paused Elfman’s score, but that were tied to key moments involving Nicholson’s Joker.

Surprisingly, these Bat/Prince moments hold up fairly well. Sure, the film feels dated more than a quarter-century later; the hair and fashion — even the boom box one of the Joker’s henchmen uses to blast these Prince jams — feel utterly of their era. Not so, though, the experience of hearing these great songs.

Prince and the Joker were an odd combination that worked surprisingly well. Could it have been their mutual love of purple? Perhaps.

For whatever reason, when the Joker tries to wine and dine a scared Vicky Vale (Kim Basinger), the Prince tunes perfectly enhance that brilliantly campy Nicholson performance. (And there’s just something about watching Nicholson’s Joker dancing to Prince.)

Then there’s the scene that leads to the final confrontation between Batman and the Joker. The Clown Prince is pouring money from the sky and watching the citizens of Gotham get swept up in his madness. Then another Prince track blares until, when it ends, the Joker is dancing along to the final few guitar riffs. (Nicholson showed some rhythm as he danced to those final musical beats. Was that a part of the script? Improvising on the spot? Maybe Jack — who turns 79 today — just got caught up in the funkiness that is Prince at his best.)

Looking back now, in the hours after Prince’s death at 57, there are elements that don’t seem dated, Instead, Prince’s music — like Nicholson’s performance — feels timeless.

Wow! I didn't know today was Jack Nicholson's birthday. So happy 79th birthday to him. What a strange coincidence.

I'm bumping "Scandalous" right now. While "Kiss From a Rose" might be the most well known, and "Face to Face" might be the most like among fans, "Scandalous" is definitely my favorite "romance" theme from the Burton/Schumacher series.
