For some episodes yes. For example don't watch Mudslide until you've watched the Feat of Clay two parter. Or don't watch Deep Freeze until you've watched Heart of Ice.

Man, this show is just amazing. I liked it as a youngster, but my appreciation of it only grows with the passing of time. They really nailed the Batman universe in a big way. It's dark, but accessible. It has humour, but it's not pushed to the extreme. And so on. It's just a balanced take on the Batman universe, and without it, we'd be longing for something akin to it.

Good episode, great animation and the biggest dick move ever done by Batman.

I still think Batman's biggest dick move was in the second Clayface episode, Mudslide, where he stopped Clayface and his doctor gf from taking the fluid that would let him become Matt Hagen.

Yeah that too, seems to be an on-going dick behavior towards Ron Perlman. Hmm, I see a pattern. It's because of Batman we have no Hellboy 3.

I remember that made no sense to me at all. Like, why not let him cure himself and then throw him in jail? One less super-powered rogue, right? Maybe if they'd played up the fluid not so much as a "cure" but more as a "power upgrade" then stopping it would make more sense.

Talk about a great birthday gift! I remember getting my copy at Barnes & Noble around six years ago and I didn't even know about it's. The episode "Mad Love" made me a huge fan so I bought the hardcover immediately. I didn't even know about the forward by Paul Dini or the commentary by Bruce Timm, but boy were they great reads and it made the purchase even more worth it.

It's really a shame that episode wasn't done in original BTAS style. Friggin black-eyed Joker.

That really shows how protective of Batman that Joker is. He doesn’t want anyone getting involved with his fun.

Maybe, but I think it more shows how he's egotistical and can't stand for Harley to upstage him

They really bungled that particular redesign. Harley looked the same. Freeze looked pretty good. Two-Face, Ivy, Bats himself... all decent.

But the Joker? Pffft.
