I know the Batwing will probably never appear in any Nolan movies but I was wondering how you guys think it should appear and any plausible explanations for it's creation. I for one loved Batman Begin's explanations for all of Batman's gadgets, they were awesome and I actually saw everything (minus the final climactic battle/microwave emitter thing) actually happening in real life. I wouldn't be too mad if it wasn't shaped like a bat, hell I would prefer that, but I personally can't think of any other reason for it to appear apart from a military prototype, and that idea isn't going to be holding water for too long.

he paints wonder woman's invisible plane black

Only if it has Bat-shark repellant.

Don´t really think it´s needed. Why would he need to fly around the city when he could just use the Tumbler or Batpod...

Nope. Batman protects GOTHAM, and as big of a city it is, its not big enough to justify a batwing. I always preferred the in 'in the shadows jumping from rooftop to rooftop' batman anyway.

If he got a batwing from Foxx it would likely jet from one end of the city to the other end in ten seconds anyway.

LMAO, along with all those other repellants kept in that ridiculous Batcopter

I always thought it would have been funnier if Robin had climbed all the way up the ladder and seen "Bat-Robin Repellant" as well and thrown a hissy-fit. Then he takes the Bat-shears and cuts the rope ladder free from the Bat-copter.

Perhaps Fox could suggest some sort of jet that had been developed, but Wayne could make a joke about how it's completely pointless. Maybe laugh about how he might as well have a helicopter or a boat.

Maybe if someone launches an aerial attack on Gotham............?

That summed up the general cheesiness of that show lol, although the Joker surfing was absolutely priceless!

Wayne: "I was wondering about other transportation the department developed that wasn't put into production."

Foxx: "What exactly did you have in mind?"

"Something... light, fast, like a motorcycle."

"How about a mac 5 jet?"

"... a ... what? Don't you need a license for that?"

"that wont stop a man like you would it mr. Wayne?"

"It sounds kid of dangerous. I might as well hang from a helicopter over shark infested water."

"Then you might be interested in the waynecorp nerve inhibiting shark repellent too."

"hmmmm"

The best part is in the movie when Bruce and Kitka are on their date, with Alfred (wearing his clever disguise) and Robin tailing in the Batmobile while watching the video screen. Robin gets so jealous when they start spooning that he has to shut the video screen off.

And to think I took that show so seriously when I was a kid.

Maybe this thread should be renamed "The Official Batcopter Thread: How Should It Happen?".

And as a result of Bruce's "Shark Diving", that is where Lucius comes up with the new Batsuit. Genius. LOL, just kidding obviously, sharks in Gotham Bay, that wouldnt happen.

Na, Just can't see it happening.

I can easily see it being needed for long range trips/missions, dealing with criminals/threats in other locations (Metropolis, overseas, etc.). But I doubt we'll ever see it.

That is something that needs to stay out of these films.

If he were to have a plane, I say he should have a smaller version of a stealth bomber. You can't tell me those planes don't scream Batman when you see them.

No, not in Nolan's world. The only reason is that, from a writer's pov, he can't land it. B89 it was crashed because you can't land in Gotham City, Bf it was crashed because you can't land on an island made of holy rusted metal. For it to work on film Batman would have to leave Gotham to land, which wouldn't make sense (in TDK at least). Nolan wouldn't crash the Batwing either, it's too unrealistic for Batman to survive a plane crash then be able to fight. I don't see how it could work, I don't see Batman parking a plane anywhere in Gotham and I don't see him crashing into a church or the ocean. Those that think he could land on the water, he could, but he couldn't take off again. Batwing, it just raises too many questions.
