I can't believe Mosley vs Mayorga II got made for August 29th.

Well I can believe it (goddamn gold digging Jin took all of Mosley's money and belts), but damn dude is past his prime and has been slurring his speech for some time now. I'd hate to see him punch drunk later in life.

It's going to be funny to see how in the world Mayorga is going to come down to 154.

Dude has to learn to keep his stick in his pants and stop getting married to all these younger chicks. He's going to be fighting until he is 60 if he doesn't.

Shane Mosley is going the way of RJJ. The guy don't know when to quit and in the process damaging his legacy.

Well, as Stark said, it's also damaging his life. He's been slurring pretty good for the last 10 years or so.

Thurman didn't look good at all tonight. No way he's ready for a Mayweather.

Thurman needs another tune up before even thinking Mayweather...Maidana or someone.

I think Maidana would probably stop Thurman. That body shot he took last night almost did. Heck, I think Spence might as well.

Thurman did really look like poop. With a live opponent, he could have very well lost.

He's been looking bad lately in his last couple of fights. I don't know if it's because he is fighting better competition or is it because he's trying to box instead of going for the KO but he doesn't looked very polished at all. He may need to trade trainers.

You know, I wasn't going to post this because it's old news and I figured this was just GGG talking trash but he was on ESPN repeating the same thing today. Ward's camp has gone really quiet. Not going to lie, if GGG is serious, then it's 95% fair. The only reason I say it's not 100% fair is because GGG wanted to fight JCC Jr. at 168. Froch's camp has said the reason why he didn't fight GGG is because GGG's camp wanted a catchweight of 164 as well. Can't lie, it's right in the middle for both guys and equal money. There is no denying it. The ball is now in Ward's court.

Mayweather vs Berto in September.:barf:

This is just ridiculous and I seriously do not see how his fans can defend this in light of all of them giving crap to Pac for fighting Algieri. He was better off picking Khan.

I am not going to see this fight (unless the rumors of it airing on CBS are true), therefore this will be my last post about this fight.

Bring on Canelo/Cotto, the only fight worth buying this year.

It's actually a brilliant move by Mayweather, but only if the fight is aired free on CBS. I don't believe him when he says he's going to retire 49-0. It's not coherent with his character to simply tie Rocky Marciano's lauded undefeated record--I know Floyd wants to break it. I think he's setting up a bidding war between HBO and Showtime for the PPV rights to his real last hurrah. Fighting Berto on CBS sets up a lucrative potential 50-0 retirement because 1) he will make things right with consumers by giving them a free fight to make up for the $100 Pacquiao PPV dud, and 2) he will give himself a strong chance to score an exciting knockout.

Pretty smart.

I can't believe he's fighting Berto though. The only way I'd pay for that is if it comes with hookers. I'm hoping the rumors are true with it being on CBS. I really thought he would fight Khan or Thurman. Khan would have been a better fight and a bigger name IMHO.

Haven't seen it anywhere yet but I've heard the whispers though.

Khan couldn't fight him, and the guy just beat Manny. He can do whatever he wants for his last fight.

I'm not saying he should be fighting GGG or something like that, but Berto? Friggen Berto? Come on.

Again, if it's free on CBS, then it's a smart move on their part. If it's PPV, this will be a disaster.

Funny how the record is there for the taking and it's really up to him how much he wants it. I'd prefer if boxers couldn't just choose the fights that suit them and the governing councils would provide them with appropriate opponents (and set fair payments for both fighters). Mayweather fully deserves the record so no complaints from me how he gets it (if he bothers going for it) but even if he didn't and was at 40-0 he or anyone else in that position could just fight 10 bums in a row to make sure they get it. :woot: Shows records don't tell the full story as it's all about who you fight.

I remember heavyweight Brian Nielsen was 49-0, with a split decision victory over (an ancient) Larry Holmes, before being unceremoniously knocked out in his fiftieth fight by Dicky Ryan (?!). Records can most definitely be padded to an obscene degree.

Chris Arreola looked so bad today. He's lucky to escape with a draw. I guess he'll be a BS mandatory for Wilder next. Hopefully Wilder gets chin-checked like he did against Molina.
