I'm not, I'm gonna stream this.
Watching Khan get knocked out will never get old. He always looks like he was just murdered.![]()
He had lost the last two rounds going into that one. Canelo starts slow, and then picks up the pace. This was like clockwork for him. He was getting closer and closer as the rounds went on. As soon as he started landing, Khan stopped being active. And that fight is what sums up Amir Khan perfectly. He's ahead on points half way through the fight and he switches off and gets KO'd.
Why are people acting like Khan wasn't losing the fight before he got knocked out? It wasn't one moment. Canelo had him hurt and figured already.
I didn't think he was losing at all, at worst he had at least 3 rounds.
He was winning early. But come rounds 4, 5 and 6 he was not "winning the fight". He might have been ahead on the scorecards (he was down 2-1 on the actual cards), but he was clearly starting to get beat up and was losing the most recent rounds.I didn't think he was losing at all, at worst he had at least 3 rounds.

It wasn't like Khan got sparked out of nowhere, which seems to be the narrative the crazy British press are trying to run with. Earlier in the round he went stiff legged.
I think you can make a case for either fighter being up at the time of the stoppage, but the momentum was clearly in Canelo's favor. Those body shots were reducing Khan's output more and more.I gave him the first 3 rounds, which doesn't constitute him "losing" the fight...until he got his ass knocked out it was pretty even to me.
But I'm still not super impressed with Canelo. If Cotto was a bigger puncher, he might've gotten out of there with the W. And if Canelo ever steps inside the ring against GGG, although I don't think the world of him either, I think Canelo gets beat pretty convincingly.
Canelo has decent technical skills offensively, he just gets hit a whole lot by anybody who can jab even a little bit. That's now Lara, Cotto, Khan, even Trout, that have been able to touch him up without much trouble. The problem is he's a super middleweight, masquerading as if he's not, fighting a ton of smaller guys. And none of them can hurt him. GGG obviously wouldn't fall into that category, and if he doesn't get a little tighter with his defense, that fight probably won't go his way, if it ever happens...
Exactly how I saw the fight.I think you can make a case for either fighter being up at the time of the stoppage, but the momentum was clearly in Canelo's favor. Those body shots were reducing Khan's output more and more.
Cotto's problem is that he's never looked great off the back foot. He looks good going through the motions sometimes, but his power is greatly diminished and he gasses faster. I think GGG beats Canelo however he feels like it; he can outpunch him coming forward or outbox him with superior footwork.
Technically, Canelo's actually pretty solid and he's got a decent ring IQ. His biggest issues are his low volume and slow feet, movement is always going to give him trouble. He's gotten much better in exchanges, but he keeps letting his opponent lead too much.
