Brook took a Cotto knee.
But there were no illegal hand wraps this time. :cwink:

Those last three rounds were something. Spence just started whooping Brook mercilessly. It was an amazing sight.

Good to see both Khan and Brook wasted their big potential money making fight. At least Brook did it without running scared.

Hehe. Only bricks in this fight were Errol's hands.

Great performance from Spence. That is how you win a championship. Fight through adversity in the champion's backyard and get the convincing finish.

Spence was up on all the scorecard at the time of the stoppage. 5, 3 and 1 point. It was over, and it looks like Brook made the right decision. If he couldn't see, things were only going to get worse.

Spence is the future. The very near...almost present...future. That boy good.

Shows what I know. Spence was fantastic in the last few rounds. Brook was fighting with a broken eye socket from the 7th round though.

So Brook has broken both eye sockets now, correct? I don't believe that was the same eye as last time.

Thanks. Showtime announce team said it was the opposite eye.

I was watching it on Sky but had Radio comms on as I prefer that and they said it was the left eye.

It was definitely the left eye. But on Showtime the announcing crew could not agree if it was the same eye from last time and I could not remember.

I respect the hell out of Brook, he steps up & shows up, but it's probably time to consider doing something else. That eye is going to be a problem the rest of his career against anyone decent.

Well I did admit I got it wrong. But where was the lie in that post? Spence had fought no one and who's biggest win was against Chris Algieri before tonight. Not exactly SRL is Algieri is he?

Yeah, not like you didn't admit it.

The thing about Spence was while his competition was lacking, his ability wasn't. So tonight going the way it did isn't odd. Especially as Brook looks like a spent force at this point.

I was impressed with Spence's composure. It helped him handle the jump in competition and fighting on the other guy's turf.

Yeah DS and go back to the original post. I even said the guy has talent, real talent but he hadn't fought anyone to justify favourtism for this fight. obviously what transpired during the actual fight is different. But hindsight and all that rubbish.

Really impressive stuff from Spence tonight, broke Brook down over the course of the fight.

I didn't expect much from Brook, I thought he looked absolutely dreadful at the weigh in. Adding whatever bit of weight he added for the GGG bout looked like it really took a tole on him in trying to get it off again to make the WW limit again.

Oh Brook lost! Damn, I was away and missed this fight. Was it a good one?

A great one. A real slugfest, with a lot of skill, and a round of the year candidate. If you can find a way to watch it, you should.

Thanks for that. I definitely will, cheers.

Golovkin Vs Canelo set for September in Vegas.

The hotly-anticipated contest between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin will take place in Las Vegas on Mexican Independence Day, it has been announced.
The Middleweight world title clash was finally confirmed last month, and will take place on September 16 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, as GGG defends his IBF, WBA and WBC world titles, while Alvarez also puts The Ring middleweight title on the line.

Joshua/Klitschko2 is on if not then AJ will fight the IBF mandatory Pulev.

Anthony Joshua's proposed rematch with Wladimir Klitschko "is happening" in his next fight, says promoter Eddie Hearn.
Joshua is set to face Klitschko for a second time after his thrilling victory at Wembley stadium in April, with a number of venues being considered to stage the heavyweight world title fight.
Klitschko will meet manager Bernd Boente this week and is expected to agree another fight with Joshua, who holds the WBA 'super' and IBF titles.

"If we don't fight Klitschko, the Pulev fight will 100 per cent be next. If we do fight Klitschko, the Pulev fight will 100 per cent be next after that. I think the IBF know that."

Not sure who's been dropping the ball with this promotion but Kovalev-Ward II is almost upon us and I barely see or hear anything about it. Pretty sure I haven't seen one commercial. I also understand it's a tough sell with who's involved but damn, they already had a great fight.

I'm excited though, I expect it to continue the string of great matches we've gotten this year. And I also expect Kovalev to have a much harder time...

Some big fights coming up!
