Ewan mcgregor if they wanted a younger jor el. jonathan frakes if they wanted an older jor el. Lookwise, similar to how kubert drew him in the "Last Son" story arc.

Lena headey for lara. Keep her hair dark.

Personally, i like michael cera for jimmy. I think he would be perfect for this. I know some don't like him for some reason though. I also think anton yelchin, and even moreso jesse eisenberg would be good. Characterwise, i would change a few things up. He would be socially awkward, but when he's doing his job, nothing stops him. He is an ace photographer. Very much how jms describes the way he is writing earth-one jimmy if you've read about that at all. Just when he's not taking pics, he's... well, socially awkward.

For lois, either sophia bush or ashley greene.

For perry, i don't want another j jonah jameson scenery chewing copy. I want a guy who can be stern, but almost seems more caring in a fatherly way. Not that he is mushy, but at the end of the day, outside any gruffness he has, he just wants what is best for his paper and his staff. As an outside the box choice, i would love to see ernie hudson in this role.

For the kents, i am not sure. For an origin reboot i would have gone with dennis quaid and julianne moore without a doubt. Depending on how long superman has been doing his thing at the time of this film, they may still work even with some slight age make up ala winona ryder in star trek.

I still submit that Eric Bana would be a perfect fit for Jor-El.

If they do a quick Smallville scene in the reboot here's who I want to play teenage Clark and Lana:

Adam gregory as teenage Clark:

Really good potential casting choices there. Where did you find these kids from?

Adam gregory has been ln the movie "17 Again" and a few episodes of "90210". Emma Stone has been ln the movies "Zombieland" and "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past"

Here are there imdb pages:

Adam gregory: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2791615/

Emma Stone: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1297015/

Good choices, I first saw Emma Stone in Superbad, shes awesome. By the time they make the Superman movie Adam Gregory might be old enough for the big part :D He's 6 foot 2 aswell.

Absolutely. Reeve was 25 when he was cast for the role in 1977. This kid is only three years younger and casting hasn't even begun yet for the new film. Plus, he's got the right phenotype down to a tee (no contacts or hair dye needed -- unless you want that jet black hair look). Forget about the traditional curl though. That looks ******ed unless your hair is at least somewhat wavy.

Emma Stone does look like a Bruce Timm drawing come to life. Nice.

Yeah, its about time they drop that. It works in the comics but in real life Routh looked really lame with that hairdo. He was like a doll. They should do it like Cain did, comb the actor's hair backwards or something like that.

Superman/Clark ??
Lois ??
Jim Caviezel for Jor-el
Catherine Zeta Jones as Lara
Alec Baldwin for Perry
Anton Yelchin for Jimmy
Dennis Quaid for Jonathan
Susan Sarandon as Martha
Kiefer Sutherland for John Corben
Johnny Depp as Lex.
Hugo Weaving for Brainiac.

It all depends, I think. Routh pretty much has pin straight hair, so this single [Superman] curl in the middle of his head looked really odd or out of place.

Still, if it looks perfectly natural, there's no problem. Worked for Reeve (although the extra goop they put in his hair didn't seem necessary to me).

Seems to look natural for Malambri, as well.

yea if actor has naturally swirl in hair that would be great to help make the whole S curl look better.

Im hoping Malambri gets the role.

i dont know his work, but like i said in casting thread if he has the chance he should test. Same with cudmore and others we have been talking about.

Reeve also wore a wig for most of his Superman stuff...

Let me try my hand at this

Smallville
Clark-- Unknown
Jonathan Kent- Tim Daly
Martha Kent- Dana Delaney
Lana- I like what people are saying about Emma Stone
Pete Ross- Unknown blond kid, it won't matter anyway

Metropolis
Lois- Keri Russell
Jimmy Olsen- Shawn Ashmore
Perry White- John C. McGinley. Probably the most out of nowhere inspired casting of this whole list...
Luthor- Gary Oldman or John Malkovich
Mercy Graves- Lucy Lawless
Dan Turpin- Michael Chiklis
Capt. Sawyer- Sandra Bullock with a boy cut (or any other reasonably tough, unattractive female with the same hair. not old, though)
Prof. Hamilton- Jackie Earl Haley

Krypton
Jor El- Brandon Routh (I know I know, just give it a sec to sink in,,,)
Lara- Rose Byrne
Zod- Jude Law (classic)
Ursa- Lena Heady
Non- Any huge dumbass
Brainiac- Lance Heriksen, or Corey Burton, depending on what look they're going for. I like both their voices, even though Heriksen was involved in that garbage Supes animated movie...

Superman/Clark ??
Lois ??
Jim Caviezel for Jor-el
Catherine Zeta Jones as Lara

Anton Yelchin for Jimmy

Johnny Depp as Lex.
Hugo Weaving for Brainiac.

Not entirely bad...

Though I think Depp as Lex would DESTROY the movie...

If Depp is to play an ultra-wealthy crime lord and business man, I think he would only work as the mysterious type who sits behind his desk in a dark office, makes phone calls, and is often seen smoking a cigarette in doing so. I don't think he can pull off the presence of Lex Luthor. Luthor is a guy that doesn't appear very mysterious on the surface. . . he's a guy you'd look at and say "he'd make an excellent president" on his public demeanor alone. That's not really Johnny's thing. This isn't to understate his acting range. He's one of the most talented actors out there, but all notable actors have parts they wouldn't fit in regardless of versatility.

Agreed. Luthor has a presence that people should be in awe of, and that's why it is so much worse for him when Superman flies by and steals all the attention.

You need someone stronger than Depp.

A bald Depp would remind me more of Helena Bonham Carter than Lex Luthor...
