Everyone wants faithful to the source material, but many still aren't satisfied in the end when they are faithful to the material.

I'm not nitpicky...re-read what I said.
People want faithful to the source material...they crave it, scream for it. But the thing is even when sometimes things are faithful to the material, those same people look down upon it for not being THEIR vision of faithful to the source material, even when if you compare it to the comic pages themselves, people still see in their mind's eye.

Do you see my point?

i dont think people should judge anyones look on promo images etc......lighting in a movie changes EVERYTHING.....
juggernaut = perfect example....in the promo shots he looks completely diffrent from where hes smashing through the walls.

I just took a look at both the 2nd X-Men and X2 trailers and they still had a few unfinished FX shots too. The scene in X1 where Mystique reveals her blue self, on the helicopter, to Senator Kelly looked pretty bad in the trailer and turned out great in the film. Also in the X2 trailer Pyro's FX shots weren't done, it just showed him holding out his hand and cars exploding. I'm sure Colossus' final FX will look great in X3.

Yeah...The first X1 and X2 trailers were reviewed very well, despite their unfinished effects, but I don't think any of them were taken as well as X3, which I can speculate are just as far away from finishing their effects as the other trailers back then..

If this is the case, then we're really in for a treat...I thought Colossus looked great in the trailer...

Actually, I thought the trailers for X1 were ridiculous... the whole thing with the characters' names was just a bit too cheesy for me.

X2 on the other hand had absolutely spectacular trailers. IMO the best preview we've seen so far for these movies was the first for X2: "Doesn't it ever wake you in the middle of the night..."

I'm not knocking the new X3 trailer, but I think it was on par with the X2 Drake family trailer.

The X3 trailers have definitely had the most impact for me & they have changed the minds of a lot of people doubting the film

The characters' names thing with the Drake X2 trailer seemed to be effective and was great reviewed..

If you're referring to the "Trust a few, fear the rest thing"..But, that was the tagline they wanted to push...

Hmmm...I guess that's understandable...I can sense the cheesiness, but it felt different back then six years ago..

I liked the names trailer.

But yeah, looking back at them now, they do look cheesy, but like TNC said, it felt a whole different back then. I'm hoping for a names trailer for X3 b/c it gives each characters a chance to shine equally.

I'm still in awe of that Deathstrike scene in the names trailer.

I am happy. Those few seconds of Colossus metalling up and smashing the 2 Soldiers through the wall were my favorite part of the entire Movie. And now he's a full Team Member. I'll be in geek heaven once the Movie hits the theaters.

That was my FAV/MOST HATED part of the movie. When I saw him metalling up, and looking at the bullets bounce off him....OMG. But then that cursed wall, we didn't see him do anything. Man, what a horrible tease. When X3 comes out, we will FINALLY see our beloved Colossus OWNING on the big screen.

I wanna see colossus kicking ass left right and centre, mutants should just have to look at him and run away. It would be awesome to see him just walk through a fire aswell infront of a gang of mutants in the battle just so we can see the look on their faces

I agree!!

Colossus should scare the crap out of some mutants...Quill shoots his spines out and just bounces off Colossus...Arclight does her shockwave and Colossus keeps walking right through it. Now that would be super-impressive! And would scare the crap outta some rag-tag muties.

Juggernaut was always a little bit stronger then Colossus.

Yeah Colossus is capable of fighting Juggernaut one on one. BUT the Juggernaut is unstoppable. Having said that, Colossus is sexier than Juggernaut, so he would prolly win.
