The Official Colossus/Daniel Cudmore thread

I think Colossus would make a great leader. He may not talk much but he's strong and already a protector and so he'd be a great leader.

wow its so cool to have a girl colossus fan in here...its been a sausage fest for awhile now...but welcome!

hey i'm a girl and i've been here!

and OK x-maniac youre right. ill go to my corner:(

Colossus didnt push the plot forward there for he didnt get much screentime

Well that is all relative because no character inherently pushes the plot forward..... They could have written him to do so but chose not too. I understand and accept why they didnt give him a huge amount of screen time. But I object to how his time on screen was used.

lol well thank you. Ive been looking for a place to discuss colossus for a long time so im glad to be here.
I think its hard for a film like xmen because there are so many characters that loads were pushed to the side. But storm was given a big role, so it is possible for actors to decide if they want a big role. But i think even if they showed colossus interacting with kitty or rogue would have been good. The way they portray him makes him seem like a loner, cos we never see him! lol
But that scene with him carrying the tv made me crack up. A bit unusual but whatever :)

I think Colossus stole that tv from either Professor X or Cyclops after they died...lol

rotflmao

colossus"what did you get in scotts will bobby"
bobby"the stereo"
colossus"i guess we should thank fox"
colossus, bobby and fox"ker-ching"

If they make an X4 they better bring Cudmore back as Colossus...I`m sure he isnt doing much these days...I wonder how much he got paid for X3

^ Yes i do hope he is in x4 (if there is one of course) and i dearly hope he gets a bigger role. If he could get a iceman x1 and 2 sized role id be happy, at least we see him communicating with the students and being a role model.
What does get to me is that a lot of xmen actors, even with smallish roles, are getting great movie roles but daniel has been limited to a tiny role so no one can really see his acting. Visually he does look like colossus so id like him so stretch his acting wings.
In the meanwhile i wanted to share a banner i made of him. Not my best but meh:

Come on people, lets keep this thread alive!

Nice banner. I thought I might post these manips I did here too because I think as Colossus fans you will give me a mroe honest opinion. Which manips do you think look best of Colossus? How can I improve them?
1)
2)
3)

I prefer the last one because of the face, it looks sooo much better than the other two which kind of look like the Hulk

Thanks for posting those, i agree that posting colossus related art in here is a better idea :)
Id say the third one is the best because with the top 2 the face looks too much like a robot if you know what i mean. I hope that doesnt offend you, but i think the third one face is more realistic. Soo good job :)

Man how I've missed this thread.:(

im new on here but whatever. i think the best opening seen for x men 3( like magnetos seen in x men 1) instead of the corny angel scene could have been with colossus. it could have shown him on the farm saving his sister from the tractor. this way you could see some true colossus action and please the fans without involving him in the story that much. just a frantic scene with his family and neighbors screaming, them lookinmg away terrified at the moment of impact. then looking back to see a beautifully lit scene with the morning sun on his back with pete holding ilyana in his arms. i have to do a manip to show you dudes cause i have it pictured perfectly in my head

I think part of him being limited in terms of roles has to do with his height perhaps...he'd prolly tower over everyone else, leading ladies no less, in nearly any picture. Someone mentioned pages back about getting the role of "Bad Guy #2" or whatever, that sort of thing. In terms of X-Men I would have liked to see Colossus really come to life...obviously a lot of that has to do with how much screen-time, dialogue, and such he's given, so Cudmore doesn't have huge control over that. I personally think X2 did a lot more for his character than X3 did.

^ some good points there, but its not really daniel's fault if he is too tall. Id like to see him paired up with kitty, i know heightwise they are like the opposite of one another but im sure he can crouch :D
I dont know though, i think his role in x2 and 3 were both good. Well i was just excited to see him doing something :) But his role amongst the school still leaves a lot to be desired, not just walking around or carrying a tv :p

Well he already proved he can help take care of the lot in X2, when he rounds them up and leads the way to the secret passage out of the mansion. If there was any allusion towards the idea of someone becoming a "real X-Man", it would have been Colossus (refer to scene with Wolvie, I can help you...help them etc.). If anyone was ready to step it up, it was him, yet they didn't really make that transition in X3.

if cudmore wasn't as tall as he is he wouldn't be collossus. i'm sure they could use fancy perspectives to get him in shot. He deserves a good role. perhaps in the young x men team iceman could be the leader, rogue second in command with collossus as the muscle and kitty just... there.

I'm not saying his height is his fault or really an issue, but just in terms of him getting a role in another film perhaps. Of course his height is perfect for X-Men; but I can see how it would pose a problem for other films.

He seemed to be, in the films at least, a strong silent type of character...he had a lot of potential in X2 but they really failed to follow up on it in X3...so all of a sudden he's in the dangerroom? Sure, but he had little dialogue/character development. Seeing how willing he was to help out in X2, I thought his transition would have been easy, yet I wasn't as pleased with his role in X3. In other words...what was the point of really featuring him in X3 at all if they weren't going to develop his character/story line further? I think Singer set it up for X3, but in X3 they actually just sort of threw him in there, just to show COLOSSUS. I think they could have really done something great with him, just a little displeased with the results of X3 is all.

I've said this once, I've said it thousands of times....

COLOSSUS: THE MOTION PICTURE!

what kind of plot do you envisage PW3R RANGER?

I have to agree, whilst daniel cudmore is perfect appearance wise as colossus he may find it hard for another role, because he does appear very strong.
Even though daniel had the same amount of screentime for both x2 and x3 i think in x2 his appearance had more of a storyline - he was there to protect. As in x3, he was there to throw logan and even as he is acknowledged he gets no lines at all. Personally in x3 i would have liked to see him interacting with kitty or rogue, but i did enjoy when he metalled up with rogue to protect her.

I think we'd all love a colossus film, but seeing as he isnt the most popular of characters it would take a lot. Besides, would they let daniel cudmore be the leading role?

^^^I think he at least needed more of a mention/focused storyline in X3, since they made it a point in X2 to give a glimpse at certain mutants, another one of which was Kitty. Instead of adding Angel (that was pointless, too, in a sense...didn't really serve to do much in terms of plot), I would have rather had Colossus featured a lot more than just tossing around Logan, as you said, or letting Bobby know of Rogue's whereabouts. I think developing his character more would have suited X3, since with Scott gone and the whole idea of the X-Men as we know it crumbling, he could have served to help keep the next generation X-Men together in a sense...there would be Kitty, Bobby, Rogue (? she got cured...nevertheless), and himself, as it was obvious he was willing to step it up in X2.

I wanted to see more of what he could do, physically in battle, in X3. The scenes of him metalling up were hardly enough for me, haha.
