The Official Colossus/Daniel Cudmore thread

I am new to the site, but was reading someone mentioning the fastball special, watch the trailer again and slow it down toward the end. You will see what appears as Colossus throwing Wolverine.

^ First, welcome to the board. Secondly, oooold.

I can confirm that the latest issue of Gay Times in the UK does NOT include any article saying Colossus will be gay in the movie, which was the subject of a previous thread on here that was for some reason deleted.

*Anyone know why it was deleted?

Someone posted a thread saying Colossus would be gay in the movie, according to an article in Gay Times.

Various discussions followed, some not liking the fact he would be gay, some having no problem with it. Mention was made of the Ultimate version being gay. There was some homophobia, some of it very subtle, but it was there.

I went offline to bed (but the debate would still be raging due to the time difference, with US members still on here), but in the morning it was deleted.

just for clarification..is this an implication US members are homophobes...or just argumentative????

I dont think that was what he meant. He was referring to the time differences since it would be several hours earlier in the US Therefore some US members would not have went to bed yet continuing the debate.

Probably just argumentative.
I read on the news a while back that Gay-marriage was a hot topic in the States.
Homophobia is a worldwide problem except for the Netherlands...

What I meant is that the debate continued after i came offline and went to bed. Whatever happened while I was offline led to the thread being closed..

So it's a mystery to me what was said and why it was closed, though some of the comments I saw earlier were incredibly narrow-minded.

It is good that the Netherlands is more progressive with gay rights. Gay 'marriage' is now legal here in the UK. My own city is about to have its first gay wedding ceremony.

However, it's not all wonderful even in the Netherlands. I have heard that homophobia is now an issue on the streets of Amsterdam (people shouting insults), I don't know why it changed. And i know a gay couple who live in the Netherlands - they have been married for eight years, and one is a huge muscular policeman.. his family disowned and snubbed him when they found out he was gay.

yeah i apologize for sounding curt... but see my post afterward ...just didnt want us to come off as monsters as we already viewed by many...:)

The whole issue is ridiculous. Why people give a damn who a total stranger has a relationship with is completely beyond me.

With family like that, I wouldn't want to inherit anything anyway.
"Have you tried... not being a..." Oh just shut up, I'm gonna live at Xavier's and become a X-men. :marv:

But it's indeed not the perfect world. I've got a friend who 'came out of the closet' recentely. His father is a catholic priest..

I would prefer colossus not to be gay, that doesnt make me a homophobe i just want the movie to stay as close to the original Colossus's character as possible and I feel to add homosexuality into the movie would be an unnecessary inclusion in a film already dealing with many storylines all thrown together. If it was included the movie would not have time to go into any depth beyond, oh yeah here is the token gay character, which i think is not appropriate for such a subject.

I really don't think his sexual proclivities will be addressed in the movie, there's not nearly enough screentime dedicated to Colossus anyway.

I just want to see him armored up again.....longer!
