Superman Returns The Official Comic-Con Thread!

I just really hope that it is a comic villain. I mean, Harris has been quoted in saying that they are thinking about other rogue Kryptonians, that aren't Zod. But, that could just mean a Zod by another name.

Superman has a VERY great gallery. Among the best up there with Batman, Spider-man, X-men, and the Flash. If you are going to make Superman movies, you should UTILIZE these villains.

Just look at Superman's great villains:
-Lex Luthor
-Darkseid
-Brainiac
-Livewire
-Parasite
-Metallo
-Bizzaro
-Doomsday
-Mongul
-Intergang

Please- Mr. Singer, WB- UTILIZE SUPERMAN's CLASSIC COMICBOOK foes.

-R
We're bound to see a couple of them in the movies. Paul Levitz, Alex Ross and host others are waiting at the phone for the Singer and co.'s call. They'll gladly help out.

Wow....that'd be pretty cool, actually.

I mean...Superman would have to kill the dude. I'd lose all respect if he didn't.....

I think they should make references to other Villans like Spider-Man. Eddie Brock was mentioned and Dr. Conner. They should do the same with Superman. Make references to other Characters in the film like the Eradicator, STAR labs...ect.

I disagree. I think its best if Superman just does what Batman did in BB. "I'm not going to kill you but I dont have to save you either" *BOOM*

Singer is an idiot and he only uses previous Superman movies as references so if he does the sequel, Zod will be the villian.

He's going to try and recreate Superman II next.

He thinks he can satisfy us just because he's using an "alien villian"

Would be shocking to see Superman do something like that.

Yup and add Lana Lang and Cat Grant to mix if possible.

Dude...if the villian KILLS his son.......what else should he do?

I mean......I think there's a line where Superman's incredible morals have they're limits...and the death of his son.....probably his ONLY son ever....c'mon.....if he doesn't kill the villian, and again.....it's a movie not a comic book- where leaving the villian alive is for an EDITORIAL REASON.....but in a self contained movie.....he's gotta kill the dude.

And the question is now how do you downsize the budget for a sequel thats expected to be 10 times better than the first in terms of action and drama?
remember that for SR a big chunk of the budget was dedicated to things that were cut. They'll have to plan better for the next movie.

Well.....didn't they spend alot on building things and sets and the gear to create the flying?

I mean, the money's been spent on all that stuff....so....unless they tore down the sets, and the gears......I think that'll trim some of the budget.

Plus....I think the fighting could be clever enough done where it won't cost as much as we all think. I mean, depending on the villian of course.

Sequels to huge blockbusters are ALWAYS bigger. Someone tell me once that wasn't.

Spider-Man 2 cost alot more then the first and the 3rd will have an even bigger budget.

Plus when Luthor and Co tried to KILL him in SR and beat the **** out of him, its not like Superman bothered to waste him and rescue them from NK before he started lifting it.

Thats definately more of the postcrisis personality.

I know but like i said it will be shocking to see.Superman has never really done anything like that in live-action.

Yep Routh said on Letterman I think that the budget for the 2nd need not be as expensive, since theyve built alot of the stuff they need and learned cheaper techniques through trial and error....they just need to modify them.

Well.....he couldn't save them either way......he'd get his ass beat again if he tried.

SM3's production budget is reportedly 250 Million+.

He didnt have time to waste anyways. The quakes would have starting killing people if he stalled for too long.

Mr. Socko said:
Which is way larger then the first two.
Yes, but keep in mind that theres 4 supervillains in this one.And they shot on location in NY which is not cheap.

If Singer said they´re planning a sequel for 2009, that´s all I need to know. As of now I don´t give a crap to the BO talk anymore.

I think Singer will introduce a NEW villain to the Superman mythos.

Someone whose never been in the comics or any of the movies.

GAYLIEN.

:joker:
Oh man, that´s so funny... only it isn´t.
