I never quite understood the purpose of the cape \S/, and whenever I drew Superman, I never used it, so no loss for me.

advertising maybe...

and remember criminal...this asswhooping came from SUPERMAN! see, I got an S on my chest AND my cape so you'll remember it as I'm flying away

Plus I think with the chest emblem being so awesomely big, it wouldn't look right to have it on the front and back.

I think having it on his chest is just fine...no complaining about the lack of "S" on the cape from me!

If I wanted realism, I wouldnt want to see a movie about a man that can fly, bullets bounce of him and all that stuff, I wouldnt be in the theater.

Btw it is red and flowing cloth material. Already a win against the fruit loop cape. But now Superman won't have reserve food if he is deep in space :(

The purpose of a yellow S(or S in general) on the cape is for identification. In a Superman movie I think we can assume a man in a red cape is supes. In the comics there are many characters with red capes(and even blue tunics). A cape S identifies Superman. Also it breaks up all that red if all your seeing is the back of Superman. Basically the S identifies and gives diversity for your eye to see. Hell take Thor in the avengers movie. Honestly with his head down its possible to mistake him for Superman(or vice versa).

Now in a movie though that cape is going to have various light sources hitting it. That cape is going to fold and move in ways a comic as a still image can't make. The need for a S is lowered. In the grand scheme of filming we may have spend much time behind him so we don't need to have a symbol to see.

I don't expect many back shots of Superman in a film either.

I'm thrilled that the red cape is actually RED! The SR maroon motif always left me flat.

He's disagreeing with you. Just by the way.

The realism thing is getting pathetic. Neither Chris Nolan or Zack Snyder are making films that show that Superman or Batman could really exist but moreso films centered around the thought of 'if they did exist, how would the world be?'

Oh and you're flogging a dead horse, so please stop.

i will say this though...

it's red! :D
the cape is FINALLY red! :D

From the back he kind of still looks like Brandon Routh.

I seriously don't see Routh in him at all. Just look at his neck, way "stronger" looking. And I am in love with that cape. It gives him a majecstic feel, which I feel Superman should have.

The hair also looks nice and not "big and poofy" as some think it is in the official pic.

where can i buy the Superman #1 new comic? Has it released yet?

wow that looks pretty good

but still its not as important to me than keeping the JW score. it lets you know its business time
