Ah, there is the point...
The Raimi costumes were perfect. Too perfect for a broke high school/college kid to make, let alone make multiple numbers of them, as they seemed to get tore up with every fight. The new costume looks gritty, homemade.

:funny:

I think with the MOS suit we have the opposite, where before now it's always looked homemade, and now it looks like something proffesional.

Which is a lot better IMO.

i'd say a superman suit without a cape is never a superman suit.
a superman suit without the shield is never a superman suit.
a superman suit without red and blue is never a superman suit.
a superman suit that is more or less the same superman suit sans trunks is still a superman suit.

i would say a suit without all those elements is still a superman suit as long as hollywood said so. there will be people embracing their idea.

I think the new one is harder to believe a kid made the design is more complicated with lines running every which way and IMO does not look home made

Absolutely. The new one looks as difficult to vbe made by a teenager as the Raimi's suit. Now, if we're going to suspend our dibelief on the same thing, lety's at least have a good suit.

A home made suit would look like the fare we see at comic cons.
The new spider-suit is no more believable on that level than Raimi's was. A bogus excuse for a poor design.

Why are people still arguing about spidey costume in a MOS th?

ps. I think spiderman's new suit rocks. It's never good to be such a zealot narrow-minded die-hard fan, above all things in the comics, which have different interpretations and perspectives about the same "iconic" characters.

THere is no such a thing like "true" fanboy among us.

Even with the idea of a canonic storyline, some "multiverse tales" are actually much better than the official story.

I could not agree more, the film is the interpretation of the character. And considering the amount of source material that is available, I wouldn't want a specific storyline or look.

i'm not saying stay dead set to roots but i just dont like the way they went.

i dont mind the gold eyes they are cool and ive seen that before but i cant remember where or the look of the large web shooters because i had that idea myself before they even showed us the new costume

but the over all styling of the suit is terrible that only person i like wearing such a alien looking suit is cavillman

this is a home made spiderman costume i can believe

I think it's great that you don't like this interpretation, even if is all about the suit, of the character, honestly, someone has to.

I understand and encourage myself to listen (read) people's differents opinions about the SEVERAL aproaches of the same comicbook superhero, to have a wider knowledge.

I didn't like SR, and I think it's the perfect example: SR have a excellent cast, the suit was more or less fidedign to the original suit and the characterizations were not bad at all.

But, I think that THAT Superman didn't worked out, it was flawed, didn't feel like Superman. Lex wasn't lex, and honestly the suit was stupid. But hey, it's my opinion!

Same with the SM trilogy, I loved the villains, william dafoe like the Green Goblin is EPIC, the megalomaniac persona was excellent; Doc Ock also, everyone of them were stars.

But the story wasn't really interesting, the scenes didn't feel emotional at all, and Peter Parker instead of a shy kid, extreme intelligent with deep emotions of isolation, was a goofy stupid boy.

im not saying the original 3 were great but the costume was better

i have a faith that Garfield will be great as spidey but the costume is something that will take me a very long time to get over

i guarantee i will end up watching the movie on hbo

These are big budget films were talking about. No costume is going to look like some kid made it unless the character wears normal clothing for their suit.

Sure would've been interesting if Raimi went the same route as Webb years ago. That is a reaction I'd love to see.

i would have reacted the same that i am now.

i've seen radical redesigns of spiderman that i have liked, same goes for every hero

here are a few supes that i dig and yet are almost nothing like the original

One thing I can't understand about both the MOS and ASM designs is the lack of an actual belt and addition of lines on the legs.

No belt because it's a onesy. The lines on the legs helps make his thighs not look like sausages or not look like plain tights.

Why would Superman need a belt?

I can understand Spidey needing an extra webcharge, but Supe¿?

in some adaptations that's where he keeps is alternating outfits

Why would Superman need a cape and red boots? Why would he need blue tights for that matter. A better question would be why take away the belt and add gauntlets and curvy lines?

if i had to guess it would be to make the suit look otherworldly

I like the suit just fine.

Burn the heretic! :whatever:

Nothing more removed from my point. I just said it didn't look home-made, as Raimi's suit didn't either.

I don't care about variations. But the new suit looks bad. I mean, even if the blue-red pattern was the same as comics, but they had those terrible lines instead of spider-webs, or if they had put those silver sneakers over the boots, I'd feel the same as now.

If the suit was the same I'd had the same reaction.

Why question everything?

Are you questioning questioning?

If the suit was the same I'd had the same reaction.

It's just interesting/funny what the general reaction is to these suits. With the way fanboys act, you'd think there would be much hate for the Webb suit if Raimi put that out. But, this is simply based on the reaction to characters like the X-Men, which was all black and made to look like a team and Superman in SR, which seemed less radical of a change.

I guess it's ok for Spidey, who I think had the best comic-to-film suit, to go from that to something "gritty" and "real." Then now with MOS, a change in cape, no trunks, some weird black thing on his back and sides, and the closest look to really looking like comic characters who's well defined muscles show through, is fine as well.

best comic to movie costume ive seen is the CR superman and Rdj as ironman and maybe CE as cap in the avengers but i am going to wait. but as for x-men all suits sucked up until first class which had really great costumes for what they were
