This might be considered off-topic, but I don't think it is since it's part of Superman's "look" (no pun intended... er, you'll see what I mean).
I've been out of touch with the comics for 15 years, but has anyone ever showed Superman's heat vision as anything other than red eyes, a red laser, or wavy "heat" lines? Because going with the idea that the hottest flames burn blue, as with stars, why don't Superman's eyes heat up bright blue when he uses his heat vision? The red is kind of off-putting, if you ask me (no one did), and I think glowing blue eyes would be a lot less menacing than red ones. Plus, it would be different and pretty cool.
