I agree with your general sentiment here, but I still don't think you can really make that judgement without reading the story in question.

I did read the story. Is there another, better "Supes meets god" episode that I should consider?

If someone watches that episode without at least their eyes watering I doubt they're human.

Perhaps, but while the theodicy the episode presented doesn't really work from a Christian perspective, it seemed pretty respectful of religion in general. A lot less ridiculous than God going around picking up chicks in Family Guy, but still pretty funny.

My mistake then. I don't find it too hard to believe that the story in question didn't handle its responsibility well, but I'll still reserve personal judgement until I read it.

I just realized that the material they opted for is very reflective and boarder line shiny. Yet is matted when it needs to be. That's pretty cool and different from the always matted look of the past costumes. I think this will yield a similar result to a greased up body builder at times when the light it right.

Although it might not be your cup of tea. I was thinking since there's been talk of a new Superman game possibly from the guys who made Arkham Asylum/City that it would be nice to see the current comic costume (no, not the jeans and t-shirt. The Kryptonian armour ). That or the studios own interpretation would be nice since they did a decent job with Batman's costume.

Also I'm not opposed to having the look for a new cartoon or some other form of media. We've already had a few series and a plethora of games (still waiting for that good one apparently) that have used the classic costume. It's not going to hurt if they ended up using the new costume.

It looks to be a take on the Electro Supes of the late 90's (while I found the costume interesting I'm glad that version died a swift death, especially when it got to Superman Red/Superman Blue) but the biggest issue I have is with the dimensions. Supes' head is twice the size (easily) if not more than Lex's. He looks almost like if Superman Blue was drawn by Liefeld. So no, I'd say that's not an acceptible version at all. Plus the shield looks... well it just looks bad. I'm typically okay with different interpretations of the suit/shield, but that one looks horrible.

It would be interesting, I think, if the current comics costume or the MoS version showed up in animated form. Would be interesting to see what detailing is kept/added. I say this only out of my own curiosity.
