Not a fan of the new costume in the comics either. Superfluous lines and patches everywhere with that generic red belt which makes for a really generic and unmemorable costume.

I recently sketched a pic of the new costume without all the lines all over it (cause I imagine that's eventually where the costume will end up with all the line confusion in the comics).

It looks okay, but the boots are still a little weird.

Fantastic drawing! The suit looks excellent.

And lol @ the guy in front of Superman. Nice nod to the first issue but also I can't tell if he's scared, smiling or found Superman extremely hot.

This is why I love the MOS suit design. If you are going to alter Superman's costume to "update" it, it doesn't get much better than this. The overall design looks and feels like Superman, especially because of the traditional neckline and cape attachment. To me, that part of the design, combined with shield, is the most important and distinctive aspect of Superman's costume. Jim Lee screwed up big time by messing with that aspect of the suit. Why the hell would you give him the same neckline as Green Lantern? The Head/shoulders/chest is the area that most greatly identifies DC heroes. I'll never understand why anyone would think it was good idea to change that so greatly on Superman.

lol; well personally for me, it's just that when you look at him from afar, the yellow is so trimmed on his waist that it looks like nothing is there to break up his suit, thus looking like he's wearing one big blue suit alone.lol

Plus, you can't see the other designs on the body suit either. It looks fine close up, but in those long distance shots from a while back, it looks kindof bad.
