and that symbol could be at least 1/3 bigger

this is what i mean, turned up saturation and brightness a little.

that's the problem when using a solid 3d symbol like that. you can only make is so big before you run into major problems when you move, especially raising your arms. that's why i hope this time they go with a slightly raised fabric.

exactly i am just trying to show that a bigger \S/ is better and has a feeling of more power

yes layered fabric is a better choice i hate that ridge S with the texture

Though not terrible, that is more red than I'd like. The red and that yellow don't mix well for me -- too "fast food" like.

It's the primary colors, that what I see

But I do get what your saying

To me the returns costume is just much like the tar influenced drunk superman and that doesn't inspire hope

I don't mind the primary colors in the comics but I don't think they really translate to film that well -- in terms of being "real."

And yeah the SR colors from those screen caps are definitely not great but I think if you take the red from the cape...

... it looks better than in the film.

This is true

Now it looks like blood red and not maroon

I have always been more for a Earth made looking costume. This doesnt have to mean cheap our dated looking though. I like it in Birthright where it looks more like a long sleeve shirt than a wet suit.

I think if you can look past the male model aspect of this picture and also imagine someone that has trained to look like Superman then this type of fabric could work

Yea man, that's the kind of look I've been hoping for. Not that material, but that fitted look where the muscle shape and definition is visible.
Although not so many creases on the arms.

I think what i like so much about a real basic t shirt cotton is it makes Supes feel more approachable, not so alien..he already shows that off enough :P

I can never imagine Lois or a someone he has saved finding him to be comfortable and as friendly if he is in some sort of wet suit type material.

He doesnt need armor and i think most people know that. If his suit is indestructible it just becomes a bit boring..

The T-800s clothing in T2 are a good example imo.

superman in under-armour !

I really dig this man its awesome, i wish my work could look of this level. I love seeing the folds in the suit. I really like how you have the raised shield looking. although for the film id change the shape of the S but even then i still dont mind it.

Just upping the size, and going with primary colours is a huge improvement imo. As someone said though, with the bigger rigid \S/ you run into problems of it restricting how the actor moves.

Yea but cotton wouldn't last half a second in battle, or flying through the atmosphere at high speed, or anything Superman-ly at all.

The best choice is a Kryptonian material similar to clothing in terms of it being not too thick or thin, but that it's denser.
Maybe even a synthetic fabric created for war on Krypton that is light-weight to keep you agile,
but powerful so that it can withstand heat/tearing etc.

So by Earth standards it would be incredibly strong (because we don't possess the technology to synthesize such a material), but when Supes goes into crazy battle with an alien it might tear or wear away here or there since Kryptonians wouldn't prepare it for such God-like battles.

That's what I think is best anyway.

I really like this. I would be so juiced if they gave us something like that, material wise.

I'd like the cape to be thicker just not that weird plastic/rubber the Returns costume had.
