Im not sure what I should do with the boots.
But here is another attempt.

Wow! That looks pretty good! As for the boots, just make them a bit taller.

I have a question: I think if Synder is the comic book geek like us he claims to be, the costume will look like THE COSTUME. But, there are outfits (one-piece or not) that included a stylized design or pattern placed on it. If the suit was a one-piece outfit, with a design/pattern on it around the waist that invokes the trunks without having them, how would that look like?

I don't know. It would depend on the execution.

In what comics does Superman exhibit the power of metal mimicry?

As for modernizing Superman, why look at him through the lense of the 60s and 70s?

Look at the gold Superman in the frame you just quoted.

Modernizing Superman: Can you point out a character of the modern age of comics through which to reexamine Superman? Silver Surfer is the most recent/modern star man of comics.

I'm sorry but the metallic suit is a terrible idea. Too cold and sterile.

Nicely done. But at that point, just go with the Reeve suit. Although I want a classic suit, I would like it to be somewhat "new." I'm not too sure what that is supposed to mean, but it makes sense in my head.

Neither can I! It's amazingly horrid. My guess, is that the average age of those that think this is a suitable costume for the M.O.S. is about 21. It might be okay for some new age Superhero, but for a Superman costume it's truly craptacular. The only good thing is the font of the \S/.

I wouldn't exactly call that a "new age" look.

I really dislike the smooth flat suit look. It just doesn't sit right visually to me.

I would like to see people explain a live action suit concept using words and images but no pictures of the suit it self.

I will work on my own and put it up

It wouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but i'd have to seriously consider even seeing the film if he wore some kind of gray metallic suit with no cape as his primary super-suit.
That wouldnt be superman to me, \S/ on the chest or not.

Hmmm nice generalisation. If i wanted to be like that i'd say the only people who don't want to see the Superman costume changed at all are nostalgic fossils.

I think it is a good design. It still screams Superman. Although i'd change the belt a little. Maybe have it straight instead of an arrow pointing to his man bits.

Are we still seeing that tracing of a teenager with an s on him as an actual suit that is worth pointing out it is not good? His head is the same color as his body..

I wonder how the Smallville Booster Gold suit would look, but with the S, the colors, and the cape.

And the answer is, Ding Ding Ding....Like S****!

Wouldn't it kinda be like that one manip that was done with the Daredevil suit?

So you're 21 then?:cwink:

Haven't found the Daredevil manip yet, but I did look at Mike22's manips again. I really like his take on the suit...

Can't go wrong with the classic. Just get some Hollywood quality material and I think it'd look great on Cavill.

i think just like that is perfect... the background looks very 300ish and the colors are perfect, thats what i'd like the suit to look like

The \S/ can just be red silicone for depth and flexibility

What I meant is where is it from?

Modernizing Superman: Can you point out a character of the modern age of comics through which to reexamine Superman? Silver Surfer is the most recent/modern star man of comics.

The thing is, Superman and Silver Surfer are different characters. That's like making Batman look like Spider-Man because they're both orphans.

I'm sorry but the metallic suit is a terrible idea. Too cold and sterile.

metallic suit is a stupid idea.

Exactly it makes him unapproachable, robotic.

Pretty much, although I would say alien, rather than robotic.

It wouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things, but i'd have to seriously consider even seeing the film if he wore some kind of gray metallic suit with no cape as his primary super-suit.

These are my objections to the Silver Surfer-esque Superman design.

Why would you say that?

I am thinking the same thing.

I concur with your dislike with the smooth flat suit look. I was thinking that the Superman costume should incorporate the muscle shading that James Acheson's Spider-Man costumes had, to counteract the muscle tone removing effects of fabric.

I am pro Earth made costume. I had an idea that materials he uses for the suit are collected from around the world.

I wouldn't mind something like this

I think the costume's look should be consistent with its in-film origin, whether it is made on Earth or Krypton. I do want to see its origin in the film, just so we know where he got it.

If the yellow was a bit brighter, it would be perfect!
