Cool, maybe, but not Superman.Gloves are cool!
Look at the clone outfit above.

No doubt its already been posted and discussed at length [hell, it could have been made by someone on here for all I know] but I dont really recall seeing it.
You raise an interesting piont. If Superman gets a new costume in the comics,No one would complain if thats what we got eventually in MOS.Smart strategy
You could make Superman a floating green bagel in the comics and nobody would complain. Well, I'm sure SOME would, but you know how things are, if it happened in the comics first, it's official and good to go.

How about a shield like in this fan made 3D tribute movie? (BTW This the best and most well done 3D fan made short I've ever seen. I can't believe I'm just now seeing this! Beautiful)

As far as trunkless goes I agree with you. It puts me in mind of the Superman clone of the 41 Century and I loved that one. First no cape no trunks that had me at Hello.

Not what I'd want but if they did I wouldn't be too pfft
You know they might leave the underpants. They did leave Batmans cape their is no real world need for a cape.Seen it before, but in terms of a modern, yet classic Superman suit, it's excellent. It also shows more or less exactly the direction they should take if they are going to remove the red underpants.
I'd probably change the colours a bit and there's a few things in the design that could do with tweaking (the cape should sit higher up around the neck etc.) but overall if the suit in the film was very similar to this I'd be happy.

W.I.P
i hope not...the materials were a big reason why Routh didn't look very muscular. those type of materials squeeze the mass and definition out of the muscles. i'd like to see materials similar to the new Spidey-suit.I think the materials will be similar to Superman Returns & Spider-man. That "milskin" look.

Add a cape, make the gold more yellow, and get rid of the grey on the boots.........and this is pretty good!!
I could see something like this being a modern, live action version of the suit. updated, but still recognizable as Superman.
