Add a cape, make the gold more yellow, and get rid of the grey on the boots.........and this is pretty good!!

I could see something like this being a modern, live action version of the suit. updated, but still recognizable as Superman.

really love the look of that. for non trunks that is really a cool design for the suit. the only thing i don't really like is the turtle neck red, the diamonds on the hands and the grey boots. at least take away the turtle neck and add a cape and i'd be happy with this for the new movie :yay:

A bit too Green Lantern for me

Anyone sitting around today that feels like collaborating on a traditional costume design?

I got adobe Ps CS it's older but gets the job done but I can't do the pro looking stuff (not that skilled but getting better) I mostly do comic looking stuff

Actually its not mine.I just posted it from deviant art to see Fan rections-predictable.
I personally like the suit but i realise its too busy.

Thank gawd it's not yours. I didn't want to say anything negative about someone on this boards work. I was  about it until I got to the combat boots then I went :lmao:

No doubt its already been posted and discussed at length [hell, it could have been made by someone on here for all I know] but I dont really recall seeing it.

It took me a few minutes to look past Henry's face:hrt: But a part from the boots which seem like they aren't drawn properly I quite like it. I am not a fan of the trunks and would be happy to see them disappear and I know I am in the minority. But with trnkless costumes, the one's I like the most, are the one's that incorporate some kind of red around his waist that leads up to a belt.

You raise an interesting piont. If Superman gets a new costume in the comics,No one would complain if thats what we got eventually in MOS.Smart strategy

They tried that with Wonder Woman, and not only was the new costume universally panned, the adaptation of it in the failed pilot was also panned.

You could make Superman a floating green bagel in the comics and nobody would complain. Well, I'm sure SOME would, but you know how things are, if it happened in the comics first, it's official and good to go.

Changing Superman's costume in the comics is a failed strategy. The only thing that DC has gotten right (for the most part) since they abandoned Superman in 1986 HAS been the costume.

How about a shield like in this fan made 3D tribute movie? (BTW This the best and most well done 3D fan made short I've ever seen. I can't believe I'm just now seeing this! Beautiful)

Seen it before, but in terms of a modern, yet classic Superman suit, it's excellent. It also shows more or less exactly the direction they should take if they are going to remove the red underpants.

I'd probably change the colours a bit and there's a few things in the design that could do with tweaking (the cape should sit higher up around the neck etc.) but overall if the suit in the film was very similar to this I'd be happy.

Sweet that's the kind of \S/ I was talking about just decrease the depth by a third and it would be perfect

As far as trunkless goes I agree with you. It puts me in mind of the Superman clone of the 41 Century and I loved that one. First no cape no trunks that had me at Hello.

Not what I'd want but if they did I wouldn't be too pfft

Love the red on the shoulders connecting to the \S/

Look at what happened when they made superman red and superman blue

You know they might leave the underpants. They did leave Batmans cape their is no real world need for a cape.:awesome:

Actually the cape is necessary. Bruce Wayne wants people who see him think of him as a "Bat-Man", so he needs wings of some sort. Furthermore, the cape can also conceal his hands so that his opponents don't know if he's about to throw a punch or a batarang or whatever.

I think you're going to see a tonal blue with texture, very modern material. I think the materials will be similar to Superman Returns & Spider-man. That "milskin" look.

i hope not...the materials were a big reason why Routh didn't look very muscular. those type of materials squeeze the mass and definition out of the muscles. i'd like to see materials similar to the new Spidey-suit.

No one would complain? I dont think so :woot:

Actually, trolls and fanboys would have 2 reasons to complain:

1. New costume in the comics
2. New costume in the movie

No matter what, they will ALWAYS complain about something. About anything. And i think that studios already notice that.

So, whatever. They just play along.
