The Official DC Stupid Question Thread....

Hehe, I've started reading Trinity in three's which is more thematic than I realised.

I loved the last issue I just read with Tomorrow Woman and Triumph - if someone told me there would be a great moment and story with those two a year ago I would have laughed in their face.
I would've believed it for Tomorrow Woman. I always liked her, especially her brief appearance in Hourman. I wonder if that's what convinced Busiek she could hack it as part of a faux-trinity.

Oh I think they are both good characters I just think it's weird that they've been used - they are obvious characters and it's a little opposed to DC's general Silver Age love at the moment.

Same with Brainwave always loved the character but I wouldn't think Busiek would have used him this way.

Maybe he just tried to find some low-key characters to inhabit the major roles as a means of showing us how different the trinity-less world is.

I never read any of Countdown either...was it any good?

the problem I have with books like that is that i really like some of the stories, but others i couldn't care less about. just like 52. i loved seeing ralph dibney trying to resurrect his wife. the rest of it wasn't that great to me.

Funny,.. I enjoyed the entire Question storyline in a sort of Love/Hate kinda thing, Same with the Irons storyline with Nat acting like Supergirl and John going thru changes.

It did confuse me though (how hard is that?) on the concept of "Meta Genes".
Up to this point - I believed that each person with "the meta gene" had a SPECIFIC powerset that if triggered by an origin event would come online.

But Luthor appeared to be able to DECIDE what powersets he wanted you to have. He gave Nat "The full treatment" She seemed to have Superstrength, Speed, Energy casting, and flight.

He made John Henry Irons a man of Stainless Steel.

i forgot about the question arc. i liked that one too.

it just seemed like too much of it was dependent on other titles as well. i can't keep track of what all happened in infinite crisis, or its 5 million one shots and mini-series and cross overs.

but on another topic...i'm curious about this new azrael. the writer said it was a pre-existing character. anybody have a guess as to who it might be? or who they want it to be?

We could call him Mr. Freeze PhD.

Victor Fries has three doctorates. Why are we still calling him Mr. Freeze?
Same reason Reed Richards is called Mr. Fantastic and Victor Von Doom, who never actually obtained his doctorate, is called Dr. Doom.

With what's happened to Batman...what happens to Superman/Batman and Trinity?

I'm surprised that so many people have asked about Trinity's future, 'cause that means they obviously haven't been reading it. Trinity is a finite, limited series, and its events all happen within a relatively short span of time. It's one long adventure, not a documentation of a whole year's adventures.

Superman/Batman will apparently continue on as usual.

I'm sure, that by this point, Doom's received a doctorate from the University of Doomsdadt, where he more than likely graduated at thew top of his class and was awarded the Victor Von Doom Prize for Academic Excellence. :o

I doubt there is a University of Doomstadt. Doom takes care of his people but keeps them totally ignorant so no one will rise to challenge him, remember? :oldrazz:

After Morrison and Loeb's runs, S/B's always been sort of in its own little corner anyway. It'll probably be like the JSA/JLA Classified titles were--the stories are in continuity, but we don't know specifically where.

I'm sure there's some formal education system in Latveria. Despite being an absolute monarchy, Doom still has cabinets and ministers in the government who help deal with the day to day running of things. I would assume that they're highly educated individuals, and Doom's too much of a nationalist to work with non-Latverians when it comes to running Latveria.

Pff, Doom has Doombots made to look like other people for appearance's sake who help him run things. :o

Seriously, though, I doubt there's any kind of university system in Latveria. Certainly nothing that could grant a doctoral degree in anything. Doom himself was educated elsewhere, so if he does have any cabinet members and ministers and such, he probably just hand-picks the most promising individuals from the lower-level education system within Latveria and sends them off to universities elsewhere with strong warnings to disbelieve all of the other countries' lies about him and their beloved homeland, then installs them when they come back with a working knowledge of politics and administration.
