Obviously it is the clothing. The clothing throws it off. It loses its elsewhere feel because they look like teens walking in the mall.

I don't understand why they aren't already showing shots of Chatwin in full Goku get-up. That would produce more positive buzz than all those shots of him in casual clothes.

I have a feeling that Goku is gonna be wearing street clothes the majority of the film, he may not wear the gi until towards the end. Thats just my opinion though

They aren't going to show the gi much because it is going to look terrible in stills. I have no idea how it is going to look in motion, but as a still the bright orange (I hope they would go red) is going to look all wrong to the eyes in live action. Hopefully the tone is deeper.

Shaolin Monks wear bright orange and yellow, and they honestly don't look all that terrible. I think Goku's orange Gi would look just fine. They really need to post some screenshots that emit more of a DBZ vibe.

if they really wanted to be faithful, they should have made his costume red. Goku and Krillin started off with red gi's when they were training with Roshi. it wasn't until later that they gradually added yellow (to make orange).

Difference is that Goku's gi is kind of fake. In my time of watching MMA, grappling tournaments, and K1 I have never seen someone with a gi designed like Goku's. There are no layers. Their is his dark undershirt, then just something that almost looks like a one piece.

Hopefully we'll be seeing it in the trailer, fingers crossed we'll see it much earlier though - along with an insight on Piccolo.
