This guy came into work last night for a party and I swear he had the closest looking hair to Goku I have ever seen while looking natural. He had jet black hair and it was spiked up from the crown with the spikes on a slant, while his sides were kind of spiked out and down, it looked awesome. It would have been pretty creapy for me to ask if I could take his pic so I let him go, but damn his head was spot on, even his face would have been perfect..........and then we have Chatwin :csad:

Hey, cool! You should've asked him to turn into a Super Saiyan. :D

I never cared for SSJ4. Actually I never cared for DBGT. *hides and prepares for bulletfire*

sorry guys but i actually like DBGT and i think that SSJ4 looks badass!

SSJ4 doesn't even look like an SSJ. It just looks like Goku in serious need of some nair.

Minus the red eye-lids and matching red chest hair, of course.

I always liked the shape of the SSJ4 hair, but it needed to stay blonde. I just don't see Super Saiyan when I look at SSJ4.

but that's what makes it the ultimate form. it's different from the rest

Actually, I don't think SSJ4 is the ultimate form, but simply the highest achieved by the characters during the show. I say this based on Dragon Ball's central theme that one can always improve oneself if one simply tries hard enough. Every time a character reaches his/her (though mainly his, in DB's case) 'ultimate' form, a more powerful enemy appears a short while later that forces said character to push beyond this limit and become even more powerful than before.

it's the final form in my eyes since there is no more dragonball not that i dont agree with you

Sorry to jump into the middle of the hair discussion but i just wanted to add my two cent in on Mr Chatwin as Goku. I don't Like it! I have nothing against the actor and i think that he is one great role away from becoming as good an actor as Joseph Gordon Levitt. However, The entire casting for this movie is a load of crap that looks like it was concocted by someone to fail for a tax write off! (Like Ewe Boll Movies!!!!).

From talking with my friends, that dont share the same sentiments as I do, I gathered that the high execs of the movie industry must be stupid! My friend explained to me that having a bunch of asian people in a movie may spook execs and they might not think they will get there money by the butt-loads. My thoughts are that the way America is sucking up every piece of asian culture that could be out there, Why would they not just cast this movie with Asian actors. They have done so for two of the characters but why not the whole thing? Thats almost as dumb as Akira, now being made, with leonardo Dicaprio as Kineda! This is what i was worried about. OH and the fact that Akira is taking place in Neo-New York???? These are dark days my friends.

The simple point is this. (No I'm not a racist) Changing the Ethnicities of characters takes away the cultural feel that made Dragonball loveable. Whether or not you believe Goku was asian or white. He was raised in a japanese environment, taught japanese culture, married a japanese wife, and had a half japanese kid, who ate japanese meals (At a rapid pace). I cant for the life of me understand why people are so bent on destroying art these days, and god only knows why we have all lost the ability to sustain mythos for that said art. Dark Days Ahead!~

Welcome to hype Kuro :)

One thing though More than 2 roles are played by Asian actors

Joon Park is Yamcha
Jaime Chung is Chi Chi
Eriko Tamura is Mai
Randall Duk Kim is Son Gohan
Chow Yun Fat is Master Roshi

The Asian actors outnumber the white ones

^Most ppl here hate GT

Actually, I love GT. Even though I love the series, I will admit that it wasn't too well thought out & it wasn't as good as it could've been but if Toriyama had more pull the series would've been even better than what we got. I will say that the best thing we got out of the entire series was Super Saiyan 4.

Most of the characters DON'T look Asian though

Well, it has less to do with GT and more to do with...the manly beefcake pose. :oldrazz:

Maybe they should have SSJ5 with all the body hair and the hair on his head turn yellow.

The most creative SSJ form is SSJ4 but I think the best SSJ form is between the SSJ1/SSJ2 forms.

Not to be argumentative but I disagree. Firstly, none of the characters are Japanese since the world DB originally took place in is not Earth and there was no country called Japan (or even resembled it) throughout the series. As for marrying a Japanese-esque wife, again I disagree. If anything, Chichi seemed more Chinese than Japanese.

Personally, I don't see much problem with casting Caucasians in the roles they did for DB (even though I am Asian myself) for the reason I mentioned above. They have at least maintained the characters who have a more overtly Asian flavor to them (e.g. Yamcha, Master Roshi, Chichi and Grandpa Gohan).

However, what I do agree with is the sad state of things where the U.S. has started stealing ideas from Asian movies, remaking them by switching locations, races but keeping the plot nearly identical. Akira and DB would only be the latest in this trend. Before this, many Asian (especially Korean and Japanese) horror movies and classics such as Infernal Affairs were copied.

I believe that Tony Ja from Ong-Bak wouldve been a thousand times better than that Chatwin. Tony Ja has that bad ass look to him but he's capable of conveying a sensible side to him and a sort of wisdom.

watch the language ;)

This film is meant for an American audience and I know personally I have always seen (like, I am sure, most American DBZ fans) Goku and most of the characters to be white.

I would of found it weird to of have Jackie Chan or Jet Li playing Goku, personally.

Jet Li or Jackie Chan as Goku would be horrible, they don't look like Goku at all. I couldn't even see Jet Li as Vegeta. I've always wanted at the Saiyans/Freeza/Cell to be portrayed by white actors & everyone else by Asian actors.

I wouldn't call it sad. Watching the American remakes has actually caused me to go and watch the originals, whereas before I never even knew. I personally like to see the ideas Americanized. I loved Infernal Affairs, but it took a few views before I got it completely. I loved The Departed because it was a similar concept, only I was able to relate to it alittle better. I love when ideas are taken and flipped to fit a certain type of demographic. I mean, I'd watch a Japanese remake of Reservoir Dogs. Just to see how different it can be culturally speaking. I don't know, I just like experimental ideas I guess.
