The Official Goku/Justin Chatwin Thread

Oogle at Chatty's good looks. OOGLE I SAY!

Nice spam guys,lol.

Back on topic,I used to have doubts about Chatwin but he seems the most accurate appearence wise, just need to hear him say something other then "I'm not ready for this!":whatever:

i'd rather have him act like goku, look like goku instead of just speak as goku
but

but...judging from the trailer, he won't be ACTING much like Goku. btw, i was sorta digging his hair from the pictures we've been seeing but i've gone back to not liking it because of the trailer. there are a good amount of shots where his hair looks crap.

My worst fears of Chatwin as Goku have been confirmed. What a joke.

Unfortunately, I agree. I'm still going to give him the benefit of a doubt, but it's not looking good.

he is not acting like goku in the shots that we saw in the trailer IMO. but i think there will be some comedic cenes. the slow motion kick in the face will be comedy IMO.

the hair looks very short.

but thank god that the hair loks good in the final fight. amen brotha.

do not want!!!!

The hair is the least of my problems.

Chatwin is a vanilla midget playing Goku.

I still thinks it's too early to tell and whose to say Goku in the movie won't have his goofy moments just by looking at this trailer

i honestly could do without Goku being a goofball as long as he were likable or charismatic. Chatwin could act like a clown all he wants, but if he delivers all his lines the way he did in the trailer (judging from his past movies, that seems to be the case) then he's not the Goku i've come to love. if he sounds monotone throughout the movie i'm going to call him Emoku.

The truth is that Justin Chatwin isn't the real problem. He's probably going to play the part as written as well as anybody. But that's the problem: the writers (Ben Ramsey and apparently James Wong) have turned Goku into something that doesn't resemble the character of the original series. "I'm not ready for this," the costuming, high school, the idea of a more "believable" character are all decisions that weren't made by the actor.

Anyways, as Goku from Dragon Ball, Justin Chatwin is miscast (I would say). As the Peter Parker knock off Goku, he's probably just fine.

i dunno about that. there are lots of actors that can make garbage writing sound like poetry. you're right though, Chatwin isn't the real problem, but he's a BIG one. he's the LEAD for this movie and they got someone who is not confident in his abilities as an actor. if they had gotten a more qualified actor then i might have been less likely to criticize this movie, but as it stands, Chatwin is one of the main reasons why i'm not digging this flick.
