there is a difference between acknowledging tradition and being a slave to it

From what I gather it ain't candy. Well... It's sweet for one person...Not so sweet for the other.

Just what is this taffying? Because I just keep getting candy in my head.
Slang for uninvited intrusions upon a certain orifice that developed in the DC lounge. :o

******** Wally fans don't worry too much, in a few years Johns will be a washed up old writer and some new writer who is on a 90's nostalgia kick will bring Wally and Kyle back. All this stuff goes in circles except that the originals get moved off to the side or killed forever. The Golden Age fans are all either old as hell or dead, and everyone else feels that history and tradition sucks.
I just hope Speed Force gets a good writer and artist. I've been content with Kyle and the other GLs sharing Green Lantern Corps since Johns and DiDio gave the spotlight back to Hal. If Speed Force is as good as GLC has been, I'll be content with that as well.

Im loving GLC lately, my only complaint is the lack of Guy Gardener

So you'll be picking up Emerald Warriors then, BL?

I've never been a huge fan of Gardner, but I think I'm gonna check out Emerald Warriors just to see if it's something I should be reading.

Emerald Warriors is definitely on my list. Even without Guy, Kilowog would still make it a must-buy for me. Couldn't really care less about the other one in it, though.

Ill check it out, if its interesting Ill add it to my list....actually thinking of rejigging the pull list completely

DC tends to acknowledge it, then spit all over it.

At least they have an Earth-2 back, and even though it's not the real Earth-Two, at least the Golden Age stories are canonical there I would assume. Now they need to never touch that Earth again because all they can do is soil it. Next they need to do the same with Earth-One, because no Silver Age stories are really canonical on their current Earth. Which is fine, as long as they are canon somewhere and they leave that Earth untouched and therefore unsoiled.

I agree. I mean Larfleeze was killing me with all that Santa Claus talk, haha. I'm also really glad to see Hector Hammond back in the book. He is a really creepy villain for Hal, it's great to see that he's gotten a bit of a power up. This will be very interesting to see how it's going to pan out. Mahnke's artwork was really awesome in this as well.

Oh gods that bit about Santa Claus was hilarious.

I mean geez Larfleeze basically summed up what Santa Claus has morphed into over the years. Having Hal, with a straight face yet, telling Larfleeze that Santa Claus didn't exist was giggle worthy too :hehe:

Yikes Hector Hammond always creeped me out for some reason... seeing "The Head That Thinks It's A Man" loose is bad enough, but now he's
swallowed and apparently merged with the Avarice entity?

So i read this weeks issue and thought "oh look a hammond issue conviently written after comic-con and there soley to give hammond a story because he hasnt had one in years." I mean am i the only one that thinks that this is just going to be Hammond experience so that DC can sell trades of this and Secret Origin by the **** ton come movie release time? Its ****ing brilliant.

GLC thoughts= Henshaw go ****ing blow your brains out.

I had not this feeling about Hammond. Maybe you are right thus. I dug the transformation into the avatar of Greed.

Two biggest reasons to buy Emerald Warriors:
Peter.
Tomasi.

I'm happy Henshaw is back. I like his woeful cries for attention.

I hates him muchly. He's an annoying *****e who just brings any story he's in down a peg or two. The only way I could see to make him decent at this point is to play up the obvious similarities between him and Hal and make him an actual nemesis of Hal, specifically, instead of just a general GLC villain.

Henshaw has sucked every time he has appeared in a GL related book. Even outside GL he has sucked.
