happened during work, not a work out.....

55 gallon drum of tar fell of the truck, and for some reason, I tried to catch it... yeah

Well then, just try to resume where you left off. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm just scared if I skip an entire week.. I'll lose all of my motivation.. It usually happens to me :(

Someone on here want to come down and kick me in the ass to get me up again if I fall off? :P

Ouch! Good luck with the recovery and work-thing. IIRC you are quite a busy man. Definitely worth it to heal up right than to potentially injure yourself again jumping into things when your body isn't ready.

Well, what motivated you to start P90x in the first place? Maybe watching the infomercial lots of times will help? :funny:

I also have an issue with motivation (not always fitness-related as well), but if I detect I'm falling off the wagon and need to go back to work, I'll do it. It helps to have a reminder floating above your head somehow, haha.

I'm never awake when those infomercials come on. I've never seen any of them :P

worked with it on Saturday... working this friday and saturday too.... no rest for the wicked

Question, I have already ran 40 miles this week and I want to take it easy tomorrow. What would be better for me as a whole, a 1-2 mile jog, or walking a half hour on the treadmill at a steady pace?

I wish I had someone to spot me when I benchpress. I can do 135 lbs easily (two 45lbers and the bar), but I never have anyone to spot me. I want to see how much I can do, but don't have no one to help...

I don't have anyone to spot me, either. That's why I switched to dumbbell bench presses.

--EDIT--
I should probably add a bit more to that.

Obviously, if you ever reach your limit with dumbbells and get stuck at the bottom of your bench, you can just drop them to your sides. So it's a lot safer (and dare I say, better to be risky with when it comes to testing your limits). Thing is, because you're holding an independent weight with each hand (as opposed to one long weight with both hands like a barbell), it takes a lot more effort to keep the weight stabilized. The first time I tried benching with dumbbells, my arms started swaying a little. So it might be a good idea to start off with a lighter weight than you're used to, just so you get used to holding dumbbells.

Yeah, that's the one lift where a spotter helps the most.

I don't have a spotter either so I utilize the 2.5 and five pound weights a lot so I can walk up to my maximum bench weight.

Thanks... made me feel a WHOLE lot better...
gonna go cry now...

At least you aren't going to the gym. :cwink:

Anyways, it's really a self-judgment. Sure you may like going to the gym, but once it starts to affect the rest of your life and consume your every thought, it's definitely time to step back. Only you can figure that out for yourself.

Don't workout when you're sick, lifting weakens your immune system temporarily, but that's long enough if you're already sick. And the gym is filthy.

I weighed myself today. I'm 6 pounds heavier than I was 3 weeks ago, and that doesn't sit well with me. My waist line hasn't moved up these past weeks and some of my lifts have gotten better, so I'm hoping that's 6 pounds of muscle instead of fat. Even if it is muscle, it looks like my fat loss is stagnating. So it's time for me to put my diet in a stranglehold, and I'll probably have to find a new cardio routine.

Never go in against a double-post when death is on the line! Ah hahaha hahahaha ah hahahaha--

I run in intervals. I run a minute, walk 2 minutes, run a minute, walk 2 minutes, ect. With warm-up and cool-off, it takes about 20 minutes. I've been doing this routine for a while, though. It might be time to change it.

Mh...I've never done internval training, mainly cause I hate to run at my max for extended periods of time. I did hear there was some kind of benefit cause your body needs to properly absorb oxygen through the fast heart rate and low heart rate.

What I do is just run at a fast jog (6.5-7.5mph) for like five to seven miles. I've found it effective for myself but I had to work up to it. At first I did running non stop for two miles, then worked up to three, then worked up to four (breaking for a walk when I needed it), and then I just settled in and could add extra miles whenever I wanted with no consequence.

This is my suggestion to you for a new cardio plan. Other than that, I've got nothing else to offer (cardio wise).

I do a lot of weight training, and I heard that long distance running could be counter-productive to muscle growth.
