Happy 10th Birthday Spider-Man 2!

Still remains as my favorite superhero movie of all time and one of my favorite movies of all time. Period.

Was 10-years old when I watched it at the theater on day one. I believe it was also the last time I got to go to the theater to watch a movie with my mom. Wouldn't have have picked a better one for it to be. She was also a big Spider-Man fan.

Going to give it a re-watch today. Can't believe how fast time flies. It was truly the last good Spider-Man movie. Can't see it ever being surpassed. If it does, it won't happen for a long long time. Long live Spidey 2!

I may do another Raimi trilogy marathon this week. (Plenty of time off work, y'see.)

With today being 10 years since spider man 2 came out to theaters did any one watch it today? I am watching it right now has we speck just got to the part where harry finds out that peter is spider man man this movie never gets old. I love asm2 but sm2 is just at a different leve and the train fight still blows me away ever time even though I have watch the movie around 40 times.

My vacation is coming up from the 4th-9th. Might have to give the original trilogy as watch as well.

Happy 10 years Spidey 2!!! Long live the Raimi trilogy!! :spidey:

I love Kirsten Dunst. The vitriol that people have for her baffles me. And I'm not even talking about her role as MJ ... I've heard people have really extreme reactions upon hearing her name. I don't get it.

And yes, I think she's a good actress. I've been a fan of hers since I saw Interview With The Vampire and The Virgin Suicides (which was way before I saw the Spider-Man movies). I also really loved her in Melancholia (I don't think it was a perfect movie or anything, but her performance was great). It's kind of a shame that she didn't get more credit for that movie because of Lars von Trier being a psycho at the Cannes Film Festival that year ...

And yeah, those pictures of her as MJ posted above ... I think she's always been really pretty. The things that angry fanboys say about her ("snaggletooth" seemed to be a popular term used against her back in the day, from what I remember) ... If they saw a girl who looked like that in real life, I highly doubt they'd say or think anything bad about her appearance! :funny:

I concur! I've always thought she was gorgeous and a very talented actress as well.

Fantastic set of GIFs there. :hrt: the Raimi trilogy.

Those gifs are a beautiful reminder of just how spectacular SM-2 is. The creme dela creme of Spidey movies.

I love Spider-Man 2... but I remember being a little disappointed in the final swing. It lacked the oomph of the first film, even if I did like the little pensive gaze from MJ.

Anyone else feel that way?

Man, I cant believe Spider-Man 2 is 10 years old. I still love this movie, and its still the best Spider-Man movie we have, and I cant see the current series being able to better it.

Its not quite number 1 for me but its still in my top CBM's ever and will be for a while yet I suspect.

The only things I can really fault in it is the swinging (not their fault, limits of technology) and to some extent, MJ (but she wasn't a big blip in the scheme of things).

I honestly can't think of anything else that I didn't like about it, just a great movie

The only time I've been disappointed by a final swing was in Spider-Man 3.

Doc Ock was such a visually stunning villain. A feast for the eyes.

Most of the time. There was some shots where they were CGI.

I loved the way the arms moved regardless, very octopus like, whilst remaining robotic, the way he used them was great as well.

Spider-Man 2 is still the best of the original trilogy.

I agree...I used to watch the SM2 DVD all the time XD

The first 2 Raimi Spider-Man movies got me interested in superhero movies/superheroes...I was 13 when the first one came out and I remember seeing it with my sister and her friend, we waited in line for hours to see it at an old movie theater downtown that dated back from the 20s (it's a concert hall now) and we snuck in candy from the Walgreens across the street. I even remember the Ang Lee Hulk teaser trailer that played before it.

I saw SM2 in theaters but I don't have as vivid memories of seeing it in the theater...and for SM3, I remember coming out of the theater with an  expression on my face.
