Spider-Man The Official "I Loved Raimi's Spider-Man' Thread - Part 1 of 99 Luft - - - - Part 13

I saw on Twitter somebody purchased a copy of an early build for the SM4 video game, and they sent it off to a YouTube channel that looks at unreleased builds of games/stuff like that, sometime this month a video will be coming out, then apparently the build will be released for the public.

I watched the first movie again and Robbie mentions Eddie in the first Daily Bugle scene. I wonder if that was a reference to Eddie Brock or just a coincidence?

R.C. Everbeck was cast as Eddie Brock for a quick cameo in the first movie and it was filmed but it was cut. Would be cool to see that footage. The actor said on Twitter he actually filmed for 3 days which is pretty decent.

I never knew that. Thanks for the info. Would be great to see the footage.

Would have been cool to see him in that movie and maybe become Venom... but alas we got Topher Grace.

Is that video out?

The game was meant for the Wii? This isn't the Radical Entertainments game?
I wonder what developer was working on this.

I know Radical was doing the X-Box/Playstation versions, there's screens out there of it, but I think they were doing this Wii version as well.

It's a shame they weren't allowed to complete it while doing the reverse of what Ravensoft had to do with Wolverine Origins by making a movie tie-in its own thing. I see some good promise from this one, combat looks like a mix between Spider-Man 2 and the Amazing Spider-Man 1 main console games but in need of more polish, and the web zipping moves freely and flows well like it was made for the Insomniac game.

The spiderman 4 game from those videos and not being that far into development looks pretty good may have been better then spiderman 2 game. I still never played spiderman 3 game has i heard it was a lot worse then the first 2 games kind of like the movies lol. I still like spiderman 3 movie but its also one of my most dissapointing movies of all time has it looked way better then it was.

I'm pretty sure no one asked him more info of his original SM3 story, his thoughts on Stan Lee's death and his other favorite Spider-Man story lines other than Ditko and Lee. if he's available, then I'll ask him these.

Now I wish John Malkovich agreed to the role and that we got Sam Raimi's treatment of Vulture even more, but it would have denied us Michael Keaton as Vulture with the mindset of MCU not wanting to use previously used villains on film.

Keaton did a great job and Marvel did a good job giving him a "cooler look" but it is interesting to think about how Malkovich's Vulture could have been. The storyboards we've seen, what we've heard, and Malkovich's acting in general makes it believable to think he would have been a formidable presence as well. I think Vulture doesn't need a cool modern paint job to make him a credible onscreen threat, as he could be scary on the basis that an old guy who's ruthless and will generally let nobody stand in his way of accomplishing his goals.

That's already a good kind of villain to go up against Spider-Man as he can be underestimated at first glance by Peter and the audience. I believe that could have been what the idea may have been since the beginning of the movie would have had Spider-Man easily stopping lots of random costumed villains like it's no problem for him, or not too serious anymore as he's pretty efficient at it by that point.

I still wish we could have seen Sam Raimis Spider-Man 4. I really really do.

You're not the only one. If only Sony removed Avi Arad and let Raimi do his own thing... you'd figure with his trilogy making over $2 billion for the company, they would've let him do SM-4 on his own.

Still ticked about that. Amy Pascal should've just removed Arad from the production and paid him handsomely to stay away.

^I believe Raimi himself felt that, after a lot of trying, he wasn't able to come up with a good enough story for SM4.
