Spider-Man The Official "I Loved Raimi's Spider-Man' Thread - Part 1 of 99 Luft - - - - Part 13

Boy, am I glad to have found this thread! Very pleasant surprise.

Anyways, over the years, I've often thought about Venom in SM3 and how it could've gone along smoother. Then it hit me, why not have Harry get the symbiote instead? IMO Osborn was in more of a rock bottom with his attempts to kill Peter resulting him going to the hospital and then later getting half of his face blown off. I could see him, at his wits' end, going to church begging God to kill Parker. Eddie never struck me as the type to go from being miffed that Peter got him fired to wanting him dead just because of his girl leaving him. I wonder how Eddie Brock being a red herring that isn't seen again after The Bugle fires him and having Harry become Venom would have been received. Not "comic accurate" but I think it would've fit the story and what had been built up during the trilogy.

Mr. Ditkovich will not rest until he collects the rent of every Peter Parker in the multiverse.

I'm sure these probably have been posted before, but man are they cool

The Hybrid Cut of Spider-Man 3 (which is a mix of the Theatrical/Editor’s Cut) is the best way to watch that movie.

Finally got Spider-Man 3 in 4k/Dolby Vision on the Vudu app. So now I own all 3 films in 4k on Vudu, but i will say, I regret not getting them on disc. Too late now though I guess! Disc is definitely always better.

Just done a re-watch of the trilogy and I still say the third is a decent watch, not as good as 1 or 2 clearly but has a lot to offer as a conclusion to the story built from the previous films.

Yes, if Raimi had got to shape 3 the way he first wanted, I reckon we'd have a better film, but all being said, I think 3 holds well still.

Usually studio meddling saves a film or at least, makes it more appealing to a general audience but Spider-Man 3 will always remain a text book example of where it all goes wrong. I always wonder what would have happened had Sony, Arad etc let Raimi have the same level of control as he did with the first two.

If Spider-Man 3 had been a worthy successor to the first two I think there's no reason why it couldn't have cracked a billion dollars back in 2007, even without Venom.

The turn around on S-M3 brings such a smile to my face. Sure, it's got issues but man is it fun. It could have been so much worse than it was so you have to applaud Raimi for making it as enjoyable as it is even if it's not as good as the first 2.

A lot of these comic book movies where the studio interference was heavy it really makes the movies bad but to Raimi's credit he still maintained the ship better than most in those kinds of situations where SM3 relatively isn't that bad- I think the disappointment mostly comes from it feeling like a big dip from the previous 2. On its own it's still pretty competent even with the janky flaws.

I just re-watched the trilogy and absolutely LOVE Spider-Man 2.

One of the best superhero movies ever made. A perfect blend of love story, action, character progression and Doc Ock is absolute awesomeness.

That being said, can anyone possibly provide a link to download a high quality version of the teaser trailer (released in Dec 2003)? I love re-watching that teaser, but the only version I've found was on YT and that's not proper 1080p.

It would be highly appreciated.

Many thanks!
