The Official Lex Luthor Casting Thread - Part 7

I'm saying Lex for the sequel may not even be cast for all we know. He could serve as a teaser shot where they don't show his face, and then a totally different actor will play him in the sequel.

 

dammit....I was one post away from closing out the thread! Never had the honor yet! ....that I'm aware of.

And Lex may not even be cast yet, but I still have my fingers crossed that he is played by Meloni!

 

I think people like the idea of Meloni as Lex and want Nolan to pull a Ras. This isn't Batman though, so can't assume he's going to pull the same tricks.

 

true, but I'm a HUGE Meloni fan and have seen him lose his **** and go nuts on tv interrogating people and then on Oz....he's damn good and he has the kind of build I'd like to see Lex have, muscular, not lean. He should also look like a physical threat

I don't think Meloni is Lex. Even though a part of me thinks that is cool, I don't think he is right for the part. Besides, haven't there been toys released that confirmed he is Colonel Hardy? I remember seeing him as a Lego and thinking "Oh, he's bald. Wouldn't kids get their bald Lego guy in a Superman set who is not Lex Luthor confused with Lex Luthor though? What if....he IS Luthor?"...idk. Just thought it was weird.

 

This speculation won't die until the movie is released and done. People are now expecting a Nolan-twist to some of these characters, but this time I doubt we'll get one.

Besides, Lex Luthor is a big, big name in the Superman mythos. They won't cast a relatively unknown actor without even announcing it to the public for such a large role. Even if the actor they chose isn't a big name, they'll try and market it and make a word out of it.

 

Open your eyes, Harthor is as real as democracy or California.

 

Meloni is Colonel Hardy not Lex, these twist conspiracies are ridiculous. Nolan may like his twists but he never did twists for the sake of it.

As for MacKenzie Gray remember he said he's playing more of a what than a who

Could be, I have a few theories, i.e. The voice of Zod's robot(s) or Kelex, maybe Brainiac, etc

 

I'm sorry, but I just don't think he'll be a known character. Brainiac is way way way too big a role for an unknown like him. And I don't really see Kelex being in the film. And personally, I doubt that the army of robots will do much talking.

Though all of that is just my gut feelings.

 

Kelex is in the film it was on one of the leaked call sheets

I'm starting to think I might not be right about this now. I think it was on one of the call sheets with Jor El but I might be thinking of something else.

Edit: actually just checked and yep Kelex is on it for a scene(s) on Krypton

 

nice, I hope they kept that scene in the movie Kelex isn't really that important but would be a nice nod to the fans
