I think Strong is boring choice personally. Not bad, just boring. I'd just like someone a little more unexpected, interesting.

Agreed. Bald actor who is typecast to play villains. I'm still rooting for Damian Lewis, Jason Clarke, or some other well-respected, young up-and-comer, who is hungry and possibly could surprise the hell out of everyone.

I'm not terribly familiar with Clarke but I like Lewis from what I've seen of him.

Who from Game of Thrones can play Lex Luther? lol

Seriously guys, Nicolas Cage.

(whispers) You think you can destruct (starts shouting) METROPOLIS LIKE THIS SUPERMAN! Then Boom the building goes on fire.

I think before we can even begin to cast Lex, we have to get a feel for what kind of age bracket he's going to be in. Early to mid 30s, like Superman? Or a decade older?

Jon Hamm was mentioned a lot in the thread for casting Superman himself, but I thought he would make a better Lex. I know he's been suggested before, so this is just a bump :D ... he's still top of my list.

loved seeing LexCorp building and truck in Metropolis. Can't wait to see which actor is casted as Lex in MOS 2. Luthor will have plenty of reason to not trust Superman after the events that unfolded in Metropolis during Sups battle with Zod and the destruction it caused

Yeah, and Luthor rebuilding Metropolis as "his" city, as the City of Tomorrow sounds good too. They definitely got a lot right. Looking forward to how they pay off all this stuff.

Lex Luthor should pwn.

Matthew McConaughey. Yep

I like that suggestion; he's always had talent and of late seems to have made a concerted effort to get back to taking good roles as opposed to simply making
lazy rom-coms.

He'd be great as Luthor - carismatic but with a sinister twist. Dazzling smile for the public but ruthless away from it. He'd be a great foil for Cavil plus, we know from Reign of Fire [a great movie that doesnt get the credit it deserves] that he looks great with a bald head. :D

Joaquin Phoenix, Jude Law, and Osscar Issacs are my favorites for the role at the moment.

They've done a great job of setting up a reason why both billionaires in this universe have a reason to fear Superman. Plus if Lex is rebuilding the city, he can make a more ostentatious headquarters for his company.

I have nothing against McConaughey.

In fact, he'd be pretty good.

Best performance I've seen though is from that Texas Chainsaw movie he was in lol

negative...don't care for his easily recognizable voice

I say McConaughey because he's just tearing it up everywhere he goes now; Killer Joe, Magic Mike, Mud. Nolan's got him as the lead in Interstellar, it would certainly be a left field choice and you could definitely imagine him on TV bursting with charisma spreading an anti superman campaign.

Sometimes you just gotta pick the guy who's hottest right now, and that's McConaughey.
