Agreed to young, athletic Luthor.

I think Lex makes a good foil for Superman if he's portrayed as the pinnacle of human achievement - brilliant, successful, and in peak physical condition. But he still wants more. Superman is something beyond human achievement, and Lex resents and lusts for that unattainablepower - the only thing in the world beyond his grasp.

just no comedic lex spacey's comedy ruined lex he needs to be a threat and ruthless

Looks more like Mr. Mxyzptlk than Lex Luthor.

LOL, j/k. I agree with you 100%, the past cinematic adaptations of Luthor turned him into a freaking cartoon. The Lex Luthor we know from the comics and TV shows is a cunning, suave, and ruthless manipulator, not a comic relief. Spacey's Lex was pretty much Bryan Singer openly admitting that he was too stuck on Donner's Superman to change anything about it, even if it meant he had to use Donner's crap version of Lex Luthor.

All this talk of Lex and his 40 cakes makes me think of a particularly amusing GIF...

perfectly describes Lex imo...major kudos.

Edward Norton. He prolly would just to spit in marvel's eye.

I just had to change my avy heh heh.
Somebody needs to form the forty cakes club lol.

no I mean I've seen the pic before, I just didn't know it was Tom Hardy :o

Well, let's not blame Spacey for that. He was just following Gene Hackman's lead...

Ed Norton is win, so I'm in. Though Denzel turning on the charm is still my favorite. Also, Jeffery Dean Morgan is a possibility if we're just looking back on people Snyder's worked with.

Also, if Lex Luthor delvers 40 cakes to the Daily Planet as a gift for a fluff piece that makes him look good would be greatness.

My choice for Lex would be Billy Crudup. He's a great actor, allready worked with Snyder, he's got the looks for the part. I think he'd be a great Lex.

A terrible interpenetration of a great character by two great actors.

I think they might want a big star for Lex...Norton would be a good choice. I lean towards Hardy myself but either would be great IF Lex is written in a more serious manner.

after Paste Pot Pete described Lex so accurately, imo...

...i'd have a hard time buying Norton as Lex.

I can't really see norton as lex, but I think my lex choices are now tom hardy, billy crudip, or john Hamm in that particular order.
