Thats why I like actors like Hanks and Day-Lewis. They have no problem doing things like shaving their heads for a role. Whatever it takes.

No, Gene Hackman did. That's why Lex Luthor tended to be "wearing a wig" for most of the films - Hackman didn't want to shave his head for the part. He originally didn't want to shave off his moustache either, which led to a great story.

Richard Donner made a deal with Hackman. If Hackman agreed to shave off his moustache to play Luthor, Donner would shave off his moustache. Reluctantly, Hackman agreed. He showed up on set the first day of filming, clean-shaven, and said, "Right, Richard, that's me taken off my moustache. Your turn." Richard Donner then peeled off his fake moustache.

No thanx to DiCaprio for Lex. He's just not cut out for a role like this imo. Besides, Hardy's already snagged the part and it's about time he gets some more screentime.

Tom Hardy remains arguably my top choice for Lex Luthor. But Leonardo Dicaprio is a great actor, more than talented enough to be "cut out" for the role.

Well, I meant literally physically, because he's never really been able to shed his boyish looks. Dont want a bratty "Anakin"-like Lex.
But I agree with you regarding his talent though. He's definitely good.
