my post was a little sarcastic because this is what Singer didnt do.

Spacey is one of the greatest actors. and singer gave him a comedic role.

lets make something clear. there should be some comedy scenes in a superman movie. but in NOOOOOOOOOOOO way from LL. he should be 100% serious.

its from a fan trailer that is in the making for almost a year. i am never happy with the scenes so i go back and render new ones. pushes me back everytime.

Agree, sort of. I think there should be aspects of everything tied in. I'd like him to be the head of a corporation, for that corporation to perform unethical/evil scientific experiments designed to work out how to destroy Superman, and for him to be a friend/acquentice of Clark Kent.

Eh, I'd probably go into the "mix-em'up" camp, myself: wealthy and worldly scientific consultant who gets along great with Clark Kent but wants Superman deader than a doornail because it disrupts his long-term plans (cue "Hail To The Chief"...)

I like the idea of him being behind the scenes for much of the film or films. Build up to the confrontation.

He can, and should be. I could see him starting out as more of a inventor/scientist. Over the years he builds up his business and hires scientists to do the work for him, so he can take a step back and oversee his empire. He might still get his hands dirty from time to time with a particular "project" in order to ensure it's success.

However, I would like to see him portrayed not as evil, but as a driven misguided humanist. He would essentially hate Superman because he views him as an Alien threat to humanity. He would be continually working behind the scenes to destroy Superman to ensure, what he believes, is the future of the human race, with himself as the best example of course.

Don't care for the evil tycoon. It's become as big if not a bigger cliche than the mad scientist. I actually like the Smallville version which mixes several of the versions of Luthor.

Also generally forgotten but worth mentioning is the original Eastern European terrorist/evil scientist/magicially based Luthor from his earliest appearences.

No Luthor story ever would make a more awesome movie than the Powerstone story, IMO. I don't know why they don't do more with that idea.

You know what would be really dark? For him to start as President. But, for multiple reasons, I don't see them going that route. So, CEO Lex, please. Sure it's a cliche, but Lex Luthor has that wich makes him different: he bald, yo!

Lex in charge of Lexcorp. When Superman comes to Metropolis Lex should want to eraticate him at all cost, because Metropolis isn't big enough for the two of them.

I would want Luthor in a position of power, but from there they can do a mix match as long as they can make the character interesting. All I really want is a Lex Luthor with some depth.
