I think brad pitt would be a good lex luthor.

He would, and Brad Pitt is a great actor, but I don't know if I'd want him in the part, given how the Brangelina publicity leviathian overshadows and consumes every project him or his also-talented wife seem to get involved in these days.

I guess it all now depends on if Lex and Superman have a history..if they do, you would think they would be somewhat close in age ( 5 years or so) if not, then Lex could be 20 years or so older.

i think that's blown over....'Salt' is a success and had minimal mention of that whole debacle, but i agree about Brad Pitt as Lex. i'm sure he could play the role, but i've never seen him play a character that's evil at heart...and i don't think he particularly has the look either. there are other actors who fit the role more.

I dont really want to see a grandpa looking lex. I think a handsome older intelligent lex would be good which is why i think brad pitt would suit the role well. I just wonder if lex being bald is necessary because i could live with him being either bald or with a full growth of hair.

To me Lex should be older than Supes, and he has to be bald.
For me, I think Bruce Willis could pull of a nice menacing Lex.

After Hairy Hackman, I want Lex to be bald for sure.

With the last couple of movie Lex's being in their late 40s/early 50s, I think we might see a younger actor - someone in their 30s - playing Luthor. Much like how a younger Joker helped with carving a new niche in the way of Jack Nicholson's version, skewing younger for Luthor could help set him apart from previous incarnations.

Guy Pearce, Daniel Craig and Joaquin Phoenix are my top three choices. So far.

Throwing out a bunch of names -

Josh Brolin

Benedict Cumberbatch

I wouldn't mind any of these guys:up:

I still think Tom Hardy would have made a perfect Lex Luthor.

Man, I would go for a bald Slattery in the role in a minute. Something about that dude just says Lex.

Well here are my top choices in no particular order...

Hugo Weaving
Ralph Feinnes
Billy Zane - plus he's already bald :)

Patrick Wilson for Lex. He and Snyder have a history, and he's got the look down perfect.

Haha, Weaving just needs to be out of these lists by default, man.

don't mean to sound biased (i probably am being biased, hehe) but i'm really starting to like who i suggested earler...

wouldn't it be hilarious/ironic/awesome if Cavill's co-star from the Tudors, Jonathan Rhys Meyers was cast as Lex???

Forgot to add a pic. Just picture him bald. Or I guess he could always go bald from kryptonite.

I want Guy Pearce to get this. Not that I think it's even on the table but having just finished the King's Speech I was reminded at how much presence he has when he's on screen in even the smallest roles. I think a Guy Pearce super villain like Lex would be badass.

Pat Wilson would make an awesome Lex

Hell yeah he would. He can act, he's got the look, and I think his history with Snyder and interest in being in this movie means he's got a great shot at getting it.

My Lex choices:

- Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter franchise)
- Patrick Wilson (The A-Team, Angels in America, Watchmen)
- Tom Hanks (Saving Private Ryan, Philadelphia, Forrest Gump)
- Jon Hamm (Madmen, The Town)

All of these actors can pull off the likability and charm that Lex needs, but they are also good enough actors to pull of the believable ruthlessness Lex needs to have.

Pearce would be so awesome, he needs a big role too. It sucks, even though he always makes them better than they are, he is always in such minor roles in great films...

i suggested Pat Wilson a while back. he'd be good too. i also have to throw in jesusmagicka's suggestion of Jefferey Donovan
