i suppose....but he'd still look funky with a bald head :oldrazz:

The most likely reason he wouldn't be cast  I think if they want a different take, more deceptive and less physical it would be intriguing to watch though.

Yeah, that fact shouldnt be ignored. And DiCaprio still looks very boyish, thus not very intimidating as mentioned. I would just see him as a hurt kid or something.

I'd love to see Lex in the Kryptonite suit kicking Superman's ass

This guy should stop being so picky.

At risk of sounding like a broken record, he's a bit old to be playing Luthor in an early-career Superman movie anyway.

Maybe, but we dont really know for a fact if he is.

If by some miracle he wanted the role, Daniel Day-Lewis could be 70 and I'd still let him play Lex Luthor.

He's Daniel Day-Lewis. If he thought he were too old for a role he'd quest for the fountain of youth. You're underestimating the Day-Lew.

If Snyder managed to get Daniel Day-Lewis, I would shave my own head on live webcam.

With Cavill and DDL, this would already equal TDK before shooting even started.

I'm going to throw a name out that isn't my first choice.

But, if Nolan and Snyder are going for big names for Luthor and to bring more attention to the film....

If they are going for a Lex Luthor that is cocky, vain, manipulative, ruthless and yet somehow still charming.

Might I suggest...

Tom Cruise.

Again CBM so probably BS:

I can totally see them casting tom cruise. In fact, there are few other guys that have been suggested that could pull off an american james bond type, and the bald look. And when he's serious about a role, he can do a damn good job acting.

He's abit small :p

Nah I like Tom Cruise but not for Lex

I hate the thought of Cruise as Lex. He would make the movie completely about him, as a person. Snyder can do much better than that.

Agreed, I think it would overshadow the whole film and deflect the attention away from the product.

While I do agree, I remember Snyder approached Cruise for the role of Ozymandias in Watchmen, so it isn't completely out of the realm of possibility.

I think Tom Cruise should play the villain...

Lex Grossman.

Wasn't there a story a few years back about Tom Cruise inviting Zack Snyder to his home, so he could personally pitch to him why he should play Ozymandius in Watchmen, and Snyder turned him down in the end because he thought his star power would overshadow the role?

They need to be looking for talent comparable to Daniel-Day Lewis or Gary Oldman... NOT media ****es like Cruise. He's not an actor, he's a celebrity. I remember hearing how at the Batman Begins premiere, Bale was all but ignored because Cruise, having had nothing at all to do with the movie, was there with Holmes.

Tom Cruise as Lex would be more distracting than being effective.

Splada-cow!! He knocked it out of the park ladies and gentlemen lol

Cruise=underrated in these days :(

Bingo. Setting aside whether or not he should play Lex Luthor for a moment (I'd probably say "no"), Tom Cruise IS a great actor when he wants to be, as fashionable as it is to hate him for his Scientology or his superstar status or whatever. "Celebrities" don't give performances like the ones he gave in Magnolia or Born on the Fourth of July. Actors do.
