Blond is the easiest color to dye red. Just sayin'...

smart@$$, you know what i meant. NOT EUROPEAN and can speak with an American accent.

Wikipedia: Mila Kunis is an AMERICAN actress....quit trying to one up me. you know what i'm getting at. you're just being annoying.

yeah....because you need to be born in America to be an American! and yes, i realize that you're acting like a 12 y/o. i guess we all need a release of some sort...

you know what could be the worst possible scenario? that WB thinks with sequels in mind.

''hey lets use Lois Lane for the sequel''. can you imagine WIlde nailing Lois Lane in the movie but she has only 10 minutes of screentime? can you imagine this move not getting a sequel? so you would have a good Lois Lane but you would not see her again.

make the best movie posssible. this should always be the plan. so i hope that if they cast Olivia Wilde for Lois Lane that she is the female lead.

Batman Begins did the same and it was amazing. You have the same minds behind the story of this movie.

If Lois weren't to appear say until the end it would seem to me that it may be Earth One inspired. My only concern is how much Superman we'll get I'm fine with no Superman for 45 mins but not for most of the film. Now I'm not saying we won't get much Superman because of the rumours of the female lead not been Lois Lane but its just a thought.

We could have a 40 minute origin AND 10x the amount of superman action that superman returns had.

But I guess you could argue that 10 x 0 is 0.

That's how I think it's going to be like. They're not going to make a SUPERMAN movie where he's barely in it. It would be a bad move.

Rachel McAdams is Canadian.

And interestingly enough, I think both Margot Kidder and Erica Durance are Canadian as well..it would be interesting to add another Canadian actress to the list of portrayals for Lois Lane.

Speaking of which, so what's the general consensus around here now? I mean are we still thinking that Lois won't be in this film at all? Or will she be reduced to a small ass role?

I wouldn't be surprised if we woke up tomorrow and all of this is complete BS. The secrecy surrounding the movie is amazing.

Agreed, I mean I had heard more news articles focusing on the possibility of actors like Joe M and John Hamm being considered for the role before it ultimately went to Cavill..where I had barely heard news reports talking about in terms of being someone that was getting closer towards landing the role.

I just can't think that Nolan and Goyer would be dumb enough to take out the SECOND MAJOR CHARACTER from the superman universe...I mean, you just don't do Superman without Lois.

If they wanted to focus on women in his past life, then this film shouldn't be called Superman, but something else since Superman arriving on the public scene goes hand to hand with Lois Lane. There is not one without the other..she isn't simply a LI for Superman....SHE IS THE LOVE INTEREST for Him..and she's so much more than that as well.

I would figure that a character like her would fall under the list of characters that Nolan would appreciate translating onto screen along with the fact that Goyer is a comic book writer so he would know on how passionate fans are about Lois as well.

Lois is nearly as iconic as Superman himself. She's the second most well known female comic character in history. She's incredibly important.

The new character could be a villain. We'll find out soon enough.

Agreed..if this was a story featuring about his SV days, then you don't call that film a "Superman film", and given that we've had 10 years of SV, with 7.5 years of Lana, yeah, like that's the thing that fans wants to see on the big screen.

I mean:

1. Lois is practically always there when Superman makes his first big public save; in most cases, she's the one that he is saving.

2. Lois is the first reporter to land an exclusive interview with Superman

3. Lois is Superman's biggest public defender.

4. Unlike Rachel Dawes or MJ, she can kick ass when she wants to, and she brings a lot of personality to screen, very fun to see.

I mean like others have said, making a Superman movie without Lois is like:

1. Making the Star Wars Prequels without Obi Wan

2. Making the Avengers without one of the Big Three (CA, IM, Thor) in it.

3. Having Two face without his special coin

4. Pirates without Jack Sparrow

etc.

Batman without Alfred and Gordon.

James Bond without women:doh::awesome:

If people thought that the backlash of Lois having a kid, let alone having it revealed that it was actually superman's formed out of wedlock, was controversial, wait till they see on what a backlash would be like to have a superman film without Lois.

It would drive WB crazy so much that like Avid Arad had done with Sam Raimi in Spiderman 3, they would FORCE them to put Lois in some significant way (assuming that she wasn't in the story)

Everyone would be up in arms if Alfred and Gordon were not in a Batman movie, but they seem to be alright with Lois, possibly, not being in a Superman film.

It's strange, since she is as important to the Superman mythos as they are to Batman. Maybe even moreso.
