The Official Lois Lane Casting & Discussion Thread - Part 3

I would be okay with Winstead (but she still looks very young). And she just got a leading role in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Killer, so there probably could be schedule problems.

McAdams would fit the part, but she played that kind of character before and I would like to see a more inspiring choice.

My wish list (schedule/ rumors aside) right now would be:
Olivia Wilde
Mila Kunis
Gemma Arterton
Emily Blunt

Winstead is already in New Orleans to shoot Abraham Lincoln, so there won't be scheduling conflits, and I heard that her part isn't very big. And she's 26, for an origin story, it's a good age. I agree that McAdams wouldn't be very inspiring, but I prefer her than Wilde (which I think has more scheduling problems).

HERE IS AN EXPERIMENT THAT I WANT EVERYBODY TO TRY

- Go to someone who isn't on the boards or isn't into tracking the production of this film.

- Tell them that McAdams/Greene/Your Choice EXCEPT FOR WILDE is the new Lois Lane, if they are on a computer, than great, go to images.google.com and have them search pics of that person

- See their reaction

- Then, tell them that you lied, that Olivia Wilde got the role instead, and than see their reaction.

I did this experiment with my sister, First I did Greene, she liked it, than lied and said it was Wilde, she didn't like it, than I pushed it and said that it's McAdams, and she loved it. So out of Greene, Wilde, and McAdams, she choose McAdams.

Instead of us all bickering at each other (SINCE NONE OF US WORK IN THE PRODUCTION WHATSOEVER), try this experiement with the public and see their reaction

I think people have you on ignore.

If it were only up to WB, I think they would go with Wilde, McAdams, or Biel. However since Snyder has input it could be anyone cause he likes to use lesser known actors. Of course he still has to get WB's approval. I can't picture him getting away with an "unknown" for Lois though. Hopefully we know by next weekend.

I reckon we'll know whose playing Lois before the start of March or should I say I hope ha ha. Surely they must be on the verge of casting Lois.

It's funny, I kinda accidentally did this with my mom when Wilde and McAdams were first reported as candidates. I told her it looks like they might have a Lois soon and mentioned McAdams first, and she was like "OMG that's perfect!!" And then I told her Olivia was a possibility too, and she was like, "Who?" I reminded her that we had JUST seen Tron: Legacy the day before, and that she was the girl in that, and she went, "Really, her? Nah, Rachel McAdams is perfect."

I think if you perform that experiment, that's how it's gonna be, because unless people watched House, they just aren't familiar enough with Olivia Wilde to care. Whereas McAdams has owned hearts left-and-right ever since the one-two-punch of Mean Girls and The Notebook. Women in particular seem to love her (I know all my female friends do, anyway).

That said, while I too prefer McAdams, I think they're both great candidates. Ashley Greene, not so much.

Things is look at some of the casting in films no one could see Heath Ledger as the Joker and he was perfect. Asking people who they want as Lois doesn't really proove anything because the director will most likely see something we won't.

I've never had a problem with Greene's look. It's just she hasn't really done anything outside of Twilight in 2 years. If Snyder and WB likes her, count me in. That goes with almost any actress including Blunt, Biel, and Kunis, whom I don't care for at all. People should make a list of 5-10 actresses who they like.

Batman and Spider-Man have already done this.

You don't think Emma Stone is good looking?

Maggie is a better point but even then it was originally Katie Holmes who has had male fans for years.

Katie Holmes was cute. I think maggie can be cute, but I don't think she was cute in TDK. Kirsten Dunst, I'm not a fan of. Emma Stone is definitely cute.

Twist my arm. :awesome:

1. Michelle Monaghan
2. Rachel McAdams
3. Olivia Wilde
4. Mila Kunis
5. Caroline Dhavernas
6. Emily Blunt
7. Rose Byrne

That's all I've got at the moment.

That's more like it. When people open them up to more choices there is a lot less close mindedness. There really is no such thing as one actress that can play Lois. I think people only listing one choice is one of the causes for all this arguing.
