That does not sound like "the whole package" at all. Pretty much all of those qualities you listed can be applied to Wilde as well. Except maybe "not well known" but Wilde is hardly a big name. "The whole package" should include qualities that the actress brings to the table that could make her a good Lois. The only one of those that I see there is having a funny side. Greene has not proven that she has the talent to pull Lois off, Wilde has. That's why she doesn't have the whole package.

It certainly seems like that's the only reason. And what you consistently fail to realize ever since Wilde's name was brought up as a candidate is that people don't just want her because she's hot. Over and over again Wilde supporters have brought up her journalistic background, the way she carries herself in real life, her intelligence, her maturity, and her acting skills to back up their support of her. Haven't seen the same from you.

Wilde is an up-and-comer as well, more so than Greene is.

I think you're confusing an "IT girl" with a "girl who has IT" which is Wilde, even though she is far from a girl. Wilde has IT, Greene does not.

Cavill and Greene do look good together. But how do Cavill and Wilde not? I think they would look fine together.

You are totally right on every point, but DIRECTOR is a very special case...he just ignores every argument which speaks against Greene (mostly acting-wise) and just keeps posting pics of her and says that she looks great with Cavill, that she looks like Lois etc...So you can't really have a objectively discussion with him because he is very close minded and that is why many people have him on ignore.

I suggest Greene because she is not well known, she is an up and comer, the only reason you guys are dogging on her is on acting..... kinda unfair since she is in the piece of trash called Twilight. But from what i seen in interviews, in clips that i seen her in, i could picture her in the Daily Planet.

The fact that the Biel news comes from a site/article that's more concerned about her personal life should be taken into consideration.

lainey's pretty reliable, she has good sources and she doesn't report just anything, which is why this rumor scares me so much! i wonder if lainey knows who else has been in talks besides jessica biel.....

not that jessica would be the end of the world, but i'd be super disappointed, and i can't really see her having chemistry with cavill.

I don't want to convince you that Wilde has a better look for Lois than Greene, that's your opinion and I accept it. The thing is, you are focusing too much on the look. Lois has no special look, it is only in your imagination who you think looks like Lois. A good actress can make a role her own and become the character even if she doesn't look like the comic-version.
And while Wilde has already proofen that she can play a strong, serious and intelligent adult women, Greene just haven't done it yet. She only played teenage characters and the trailer and scenes you posted some time back just don't show that she's a capable actress...

Anyone that has read any of my posts on the matter know that I have never suggest or given my dislike for anyone over their looks. I am all about substance. What does bother me is how everyone is on her sack like she deserves this part and could do no wrong. Makes me wonder if she never did Tron (her character was forgettable imo) whose sack would everyone be on right now? Like I said in a post before... Has is anyone given any thought to a possibility that she has tested for the roll and did not perform in a way that Snyder envisioned? It seems to me that when he likes someone they are hired on very quickly. Maybe there is someone else out there who is giving her run for her money.

And... you can't deny that chicks forehead is Huge or Large or Enormous, Garganuen. Take your pick.

C) Wilde certainly has a lot of the qualities that a good Lois candidate should have: intelligence, a funny side, maturity, an alluring, womanly aura, some toughness/independence, etc. Her gorgeous looks are just a bonus. And a GREAT bonus at that.

Yeah, she is definitely all of those things, and those things are definitely Lois.

She is missing the ONE most important thing to me. She's not a little bit crazy. She is fully together, classy, and to me has no spark of mischief or spontaneousness, that kind of wild eyed passion.

It's the one and only reason I can't see it. I've never seen her go crazy.

Rachel McAdams can mostly definitely pull off the mental side of Lois. Just watch her arguements in the notebook

At this stage in both of their careers, I really think it's a matter of opinion who's acting ability you'd credit more.

I honestly didn't see it until now, but it fits her face...
Of course Wilde could have a sceentest and Snyder didn't like her, but on paper she sounds like one of the more solid choices.
I have a some choices as Lois and only a few I don't want, so chances are bigger that I woun't be dissapointed

I can totally accept that and I aggree with you. On paper she has the goods. I'm not against her getting the roll. I actually had her as my #2 at one point in time. I'm just baffled that there are some people who are so sold and would damn the movie if she weren't cast, you know. Like this is a Superman movie. It's not "Lois Lane the Reporter" staring Olivia Wilde.

With House alone Wilde has proven that she is a better actress, because the problem with Greene is that she has proven nothing yet! Wilde has much more experience and she'll have six movies coming out in 2011/2012.

I know why people get turned off if an actor/actress is so über-popular with the fans, but don't let it deceive your judgment...just try to be objective!

Wilde is more experienced and has a better resume than Greene. IMO, she has proven much more than Greene has with her roles. Obviously it's a matter of opinion, I'm not saying it's a fact that Wilde is better, that's just what I think.

Yeah I read alot of that and it was part of why I didn't come on until Cavill was cast. I really wouldn't have the energy for that. Not when it comes to Superman. I want to say that's what's happening with this Wilde situation.

I don't follow the site, so I can't say much about it. Just my initial reaction to the site in general. It is possible that they may have heard about Superman news. But, you really never know.

Wasn't Biel's name already mentioned somewhere else that focuses on film news?
