Just to throw someone out that I haven't seen mention here before... I was watching the trailer for Girl Walks Into a Bar (if you haven't seen it, go to youtube now)and it got me thinking about Emmanuelle Chriqui. I've only seen her in a couple of things; she seems like a decent enough actress though and I think she has a good Lois look...

I can totally accept that and I aggree with you. On paper she has the goods. I'm not against her getting the roll. I actually had her as my #2 at one point in time. I'm just baffled that there are some people who are so sold and would damn the movie if she weren't cast, you know. Like this is a Superman movie. It's not "Lois Lane the Reporter" staring Olivia Wilde.

I'm getting a little sick of it too, but that's not gonna stop me from wanting her to be Lois. The same thing happened with Cavill.

Wow, we've reached a new low. The t-mobile girl for Lois.

Beside my signature I dropped out of the Superman discussion early on too and I was happy when Cavill was officially announced and put an end to the debate.
So I hope that they will just announce someone as Lois very soon, because right now it is just pro or con Wilde...

Makes me wonder if she never did Tron (her character was forgettable imo) whose sack would everyone be on right now?

I actually suggested her nearly 2 years ago.

I don't give a crap about Tron. I only saw it because of her. I even sat through Year One for her. I may be a little obsessed. t:

She was excellent in Legacy, imo. The best thing about the movie. Quorra was so adorable.

I liked her in Tron also, but yeah, I suggested her here too way before all of this crap started.

I really think though that the main reason this board seems like Wilde debate is because the few people on this board who apparently hate her mention her even more frequently than the ones that like her.

That's how it usually happens. Take Transformers, for example. The people who hate the movies will talk about them more often than the people who like them.

Yeah, I don't understand that. People were denouncing those films as soon as it was announced that they would take place on earth and not Cybertron and would have human characters. Because apparently the TV cartoon they loved so much as kids didn't have these elements at all.

Yeah.

Now granted, the second Transformers movie was a turd, there's no doubt about that. But the first one, IMHO, was actually a fun disaster/action movie that is enjoyable as long as you didn't go into it expecting Lord of the Rings with robots.

It's funny... Zooey used to get mentioned everyday on these boards. I used to really like her in the role but as the years have gone on, I've only ever seen her play ditzy, aloof characters. I wish she would try something new so that I could get a sense of whether or not she could play a character with an edge to her.

Anyone remember when Mia Kirshner used to get mentioned every five minutes?

Zooey's problem is she keeps playing essentially the same character over and over... I think she just needs a role where she can "break out". In interviews and her music videos she actually has some personality.

I know, it was always, "What about this random male model I saw on a billboard? Or this guy who had one speaking line on a TV show that I saw at 3am? He should at least get a screentest." It was brutal.
