The goth/troubled thing isn't in every role, but she's fragile in every role. Even Whatever Works, she plays an innocent who has a child-like sensitivity and fragility. I haven't seen True Blood, so I can't comment, but I've seen every one of her movie roles and she's a variation of "fragile" in everything. Even if not, you really think she should be Lois?
Watch the clip of her on True Blood. Seriously, nothing fragile.
I like discussing new people, and i'd be happy with her in the role because I respect her acting ability. I think she has a lot of unexplored potential in playing a strong woman. Obviously Sophie Ann is a bit different, as a Vampire Queen, but it shows that she can play mature and confident very well.
The thing is, she's had a lot of roles where she plays this 'fragile' person, because she is very good at playing fragile. She is wanted to roles like that, because people have seen her do it so well before. But that doesn't mean it's the ONLY thing she's capable of.
She's growing up now. She is a very talented actress, with a lot more range in her than people give her credit for.

I can easily see her pulling off both the 'hard as nails' Lois Lane, and the swooning for superman one, without a problem.
The add in the fact that she looks great with Cavill, has chemistry with Cavill, and Snyder and Nolan both have expressed interest in her before.

I'd take Olivia Wilde any day over Biel... Heck, I think i'd even take Bosworth back, with a better script.
