The Official Lois Lane Casting & Discussion Thread - Part 6

A Lois announcement has to be the next piece of big casting news coming. It's been quiet for so long now, it's bound to happen next. TBH, I would be happy with ANY casting news right now, but I'd like it to be Lois.

I have a feeling we'll be up to part 12 before we get are new Lois.

Yeah I reckon it'l be her next or the villain

They may pull a Spider-Man and bust out with Lana for this one and save Lois for a sequel.

I'd like both myself Lana in the early parts of the film and Lois in the second half

I think Lois is in this, her role may just be very secondary/minor as the rumors indicate.

Fair enough if the film focuses on Superman like Begins did for Batman.

Lois should NOT have a minor part. It would be a disgrace.

Maybe she'll have a role the same size Rachel did in Batman Begins. I do think this film needs to focus on the journey of Clark becoming Superman ala Batman Begins but I want Lois to have a decent size role.

But, as has been pointed out before, Lois is more important to the Superman mythos than a made-up character like Rachel is to Batman. Lois is the reporter who breaks the Superman story, she reports on Superman, she works for the Daily Planet, so she's more than just a love interest. So even if she's not the main love interest of the movie, she'll still be in it.

Anyone see that Amanda Syfried auditioned for a role but didn't get it?

"I auditioned for a role in the new Superman and didn't get it. And I really wanted Emily Browning's role in Sucker Punch. I'd originally got that role and everything was in gear, but then I got the call from Big Love saying `we need you this season, you can't do it'.

Doesn't mean it's for Lois, I just didn't know where else to put it. :o

Nah. It would be awesome.

Honestly, they've been overplaying the romance crap on Superman full steam since the 90s. It's uber lame.

It's great to finally have a Superman focusing on Superman and ACTION.. and the Kryptonian stuff. Hopefully there's a heavy sci-fi influence.

The Variety/Deadline articles confirmed 3 female roles in this film. I'm assuming they are Martha, Ursa, and Lois.

She could have auditioned for Ursa or Lois and got shut down from those.

Actually I could life with that! I would be a little dissapointed but the more I think about it, the more I think it wouldn't be that bad.
Because they could really focusing on Clark/ Superman, starting in Smallville with his family and lana and then he goes out into the world (like in Earth One) to find his destiny. he could meets ursa (who would be the main female) on his journey and in the last part of the film he comes to Metropolis for the final fight (with zod, ursa or whoever the villain will be). and at the end of the movie he has an issue of the Daily Planet covering his appereance in Metroplois and it is written by Lois Lane and then End. Just like the Joker card in Batman Begins...

I agree. TV shows like "Lois and Clark" and "Smallville" have done to Superman what "Twilight" has done to vampires.
