Btw I think romance with Lois Lane and a romantic plot is very important to the plot.
I know people (mostly fanboys) want mostly action, and so do I. But I know you need a good plot and alot of heart otherwise you really have just got people throwing punches and flying across the screen.
I'm really hoping we get alot of big Superman action scenes because we've been depraved of them. Returns didn't have enough and Smallville doesn't often have big action because it's tv.
But the Clark and Lois relationship is incredibly important too. They can fit it all in there somewhere.
I know Lois and Clark romance plot is perfect, but I have a feeling that Lana and Clark will be the main romance story. I think that the last forty minutes we will see the intro to Lois and Clark's romance.
I hope it is this way.
Well that's only IF they decide that Lana's even an important character to bring into the story at the time being.
From what I understand of the comics, for the most part, Clark was never interested in Lana in the comics and it wasn't till Secret Origins where they started to have him have a thing for her as well during his childhood.
Plus, we haven't heard anything Official imho to say that Lois ISN'T the main LI for Superman/Clark in this film.
None of this is what I have read in articles or anything. Just my hopes for the film.
And yeah, in most comics, Lana was just the friend he confined in. But some of the pre-crisis comics, she was more and like you said in Birthright she was. And I just think Lana would add depth to the film. Lois is great, but it would be cool to see Clark before Lois. He had to like someone before he moved to Metropolis.
And like I said, none of this is fact. I hope Lois is the main female lead. I just would love for Lana to be in the movie.
If they could find a balance between having Lana and Lois there, without losing Clark's focus in the story, while providing the much needed coverage for everything else, and that Lana is introduced with the intention of being possibly in the sequels then I wouldn't mind.
As long as she isn't written as badly as SV's interpretation, and that we don't see any unneeded drama between Lois-Clark-Lana triangle like SR did with the Richard white thing.
Agreed. Thought the whole Richard White thing was completely pointless, like that whole movie.
I prefer solid characters, a good involving story...that leads into action scenes.![]()
I want angst, pathos introspection, and abject frustration when he realizes that even he can't save everyone and must decide who lives, who dies. No turning back time. people must die. If there aren't consequences to actions, then it's all kind of pointless because if he can save everyone then we already know the outcome.
Superman needs moments of quiet reflection in it as Clark figures out his purpose in life
I wouldn't object to Alice Eve having a part in this following her exit from X-Men: First Class. I'd be all for her as Lana - now how would she look as a red head?
And I'm not buying into this Ursa nonsense either. If Snyder is really steering away from the Donnerverse then there's a possibility we won't see Ursa either.
Indeed.
Romance aside though, I really do want to see Lois Lane shine as a reporter in this film, and I do believe that it's necessary for her to have a good amount of exposure and importance in this film since she's the one who not only names Clark's hero persona: Superman, but as mythology states, she helps the public see Superman for what he truly is: A true hero.
The thing about Lois is that she's no Mary Jane, where she's a damsel in distress who can't make up her mind as to which guy she wants to be with, and needs strong men to define her identity in life. Nor is she the kind that thinks it's all about her and gets pissed off whenever the exposure is off of her.
Lois may not be perfect, but that's what makes her so endearing, she doesn't try to be perfect. She tries to be herself, which is one of things that I feel draws Clark/Superman towards her, and if they could capture that essence in this film, that would be great.
