I agree.Characterization>>>>one artist's depiction out of hundreds who have contributed to the mythos
Thats entirely subjective. Personally I'd take McAdams over both. Also Teri Hatcher and Erica Durance have pretty much raised the bar for looks in live action. Why hire McAdams who is less attractive than previous Lois actresses?
You realize you're talking about comics here. The medium where everyone and their grandma sports double D's.
Wow, are you her manager or something? So many pics, so much promo. And i agree with the others, she looks too young for it.Once again, the conversation deteriorates into 'who do each of you find hotter.'
We don't know the story yet, but Astrodust is right, this seems to be the age that Snyder is looking at for his Lois: early 20's. I couldn't think of anyone who is perfect for it, who has that perfect combination of qualities and gives off that exact Lois Lane vibe and who's also that young. Then, all of a sudden, it hit me: Ellen Page. This is impeccable casting for an early 20's Lois Lane.

I know that you guys all want some sexed-up bombshell for Lois, but in this search for someone who can really play the role to perfection (like RoughNTumble pointed out, we've become obsessed with mere photos and seem to forget about the actor's on-screen charisma), who has every quality necessary to create a memorable, charismatic Lois Lane that jumps off the screen, there is no one better in this age range who embodies this character than Ellen Page.

She's beautiful, but has a down-to-earth tomboy quality that's perfect for Lois, plus she's only growing more beautiful as she gets older (have you seen the trailer for Super?, she's already looking quite stunning), she's funny as hell and has amazing comic timing which is so important for Lois I can't stress it enough, she's sympathetic, has that "everywoman" likability, obviously intelligent, she can be confident and tough, but at the same time vulnerable, and she has a sharp wit behind her eyes where you can see the wheels turning, not like so many of these dead-eyed Hollywood starlets, and even though she's tiny, you can totally imagine her steamrolling over Clark, but also blushing at Superman's attention.

The only down-side is she seems so young-looking with a natural baby-face, but if Snyder was considering Kristen Stewart and that age group, Ellen Page is the one. I guess the script just contains a younger Lois, in which case Ellen Page is absolute perfection for this. And, like I said, through a second and third movie as she gets older and more mature-looking, she'll become more and more beautiful and end up looking like the flawless image of an adult Lois Lane.

And for those worried that Cavill is too short for Superman, Ellen Page is a tiny little thing, she'll make Cavill look like a towering presence, which I know you all want.
This is it, people... this is the woman who was born to play this role at this time in history together with Henry Cavill as Superman. She's the complete package: beautiful, funny, sarcastic, snarky, sharp, likable, confident, vulnerable, real. If Snyder doesn't cast Ellen Page, he's missed it.

I saw the Adjustment Bureau yesterday and Emily Blunt was terrific. Amazing chemistry with Matt Damon. Her character had a bit of everything. I can definitely see her as Lois.
Looks wise, Hatcher isn't my thing so I've never gotten the "she's so hot" comments.
I've thought that for years and years. I mean I love looking at beautiful women and have no trouble saying that a chick is hot but she has never done anything for me in the looks department. I know some would say "but you are a female what do you know about hot chicks?" And my point of view is, she used to have a hot body (too boney now) but that was as far as she goes on my scale.me either![]()

As for the most important thing, I was never in love with her Lois Lane as I feel that she is a very weak actress. JMO.
I couldn't stand it either. I never made it through a full episode.I...couldn't stand anything about that show tbqh.
I was a kid (9 years old) when it first came on and I watched alot of episodes and I can tell you that you are not missing the contex of it being a 90's show because I knew that it was bad when I was viewing it. I mostly knew what was actually good and what wasn't at that age, I knew that L&C was silly tripe.I...couldn't stand anything about that show tbqh. 4 episodes was about as far as I could make it. Of course, I was watching it last year instead of in the 90's, so I might be missing the sense of context.
IMO, the "type" of project is far less important than the actual characters when determining whether someone can play it based on previous roles. And Lois is FAR closer to her character in Morning Glory than Irene Adler, and she truly knocked it out of the park in MG, so I have no doubts about her ability to rock it as Lois at this point. She should have knocked that character that she played in Sherlock Holmes out of the park and she didn't, she was incredibly mediocre and had little to no chemstry with RDJ. Superman is not going to be a rom-com, it's going to be a big budget blockbuster like Sherlock Holmes and some very fine actors are good in these type of projects, I just wonder if McAdams is one of those actors.
Regarding L&C, I just don't feel that their Lois will be hard to top. And I also don't think that Lois has to be super hot either.
I'd be fine with her getting the role but I have my doubts.IMO, it's not about the project, it's about the character.
