If that's the case..

Kristen Stewart is such an odd choice. I don't mind her as an actress but she doesn't look someone who could play an 'adult' per say. She still looks like she can play teens easily.

I just hope whoever they cast is believable as a seasoned journalist and not an intern.
Yeah, I also believe this is important & Kristen Stewart (& Kate Bosworth/Rachel Bilson etc) doesn't fit the bill in this regard.

Once Kristin Stewart is mentioned, it is mandatory this picture is posted:

It's not going to be Kristen Stewart. She's finishing Twilight. She's not about to sign up for another franchise. No way...

She's a cute girl though but not appropriate for a role like Lois Lane.

She's in the running for 'Snow White and the Huntsman' so I doubt she'll get Lois anyway.

I'm telling you. It's between Biel and McAdams.

Only because those two have been circled by Nolan for his film. There's got to be some bleed over to Snyder's.

The fact that Hathaway had her pick for which role lets me know that one of these ladies had to be at least number two on the list for Nolan.

And frankly, Biel needs this more than McAdams if you compare careers....

The more shots I have seen of her lately, I think she could actually pull it off. I think with her and that Glee chick involved, the thought process might be, "Let's get the Twi-Hards or Gleeks on board. Brings a whole new audience.

That being said, if I could choose the reality of any of these candidates being cast. Money would be on Biel.

i think Kristen Stewart looks younger then Bosworth in SUperman Returns.

please Banks. please. she doesnt look old

The mere fact that Gosling and McAdams were in the Notebook, a chick flick that actually made DUDES cry, gives them a free acting pass on anything.

Never saw The Notebook (I avoid Nicholas Sparks adaptations like the plague), but McAdams was amazing in Time Traveler's Wife. Both that and her State of Play roles convince me she has range. But she's awfully good at playing sweet, spunky women...

I have a feeling the actress who gets the Lois role may be as unexpected as the Henry Cavill and Ryan Reynolds announcements. There are several actresses who'd do the role great -- and I think the finalists from the SR castings is probably going to bleed over to Lois Lane. I wouldn't mind having Keri Russell, Emily Blunt, or Rachel McAdams nabbing the role.

Not sure about Biel though. I can't envision her as a Lois.

Russell's too old, even though she doesn't quite look it. Stewart's too young and I'm pretty sure she's not going to want to do another franchise.

I always thought Routh's wife, Courtney Ford, was pretty perfect for the role but there's been no mention of her. McAdams just seems to fit the role like a glove. I remember when they were casting for Lois in Returns. My immediate thought was McAdams...even then.

Like Cavill, she just seems destined to play the role. It just makes sense.

That's my thought as well. I feel like Stewart and Agron are studio choices, as they really don't fit with any of the other shortlist candidates.

I could see Akerman getting it, though I'd really rather not see her get it.

McAdams is the best choice of this list (not the best choice for Lois mind you, but the best on the list) and if this were three years ago....yeah, maybe. But I dunno, it seems like she's cooled off and that may give the studio reservations.

Biel has a great working relationship with Warners. But she doesn't seem like the type of actress Snyder would go for. I'm not crazy about Biel for the role. Biel is passable when she is an Adam Sandler movie or on TV. But when she is acting with a real actor or actress, she just takes all charisma out of the scene and can't keep up. That said, it feels like her career really needs this role, so I could see her agent pushing hard for her.

I'd say it'll either be Biel or Akerman, with Agron and Stewart being possible dark horses depending on how hard the studio demands it/if its a fight that Snyder and Nolan are willing to give in on. My guess, just based on gut instinct....Akerman.

Courtney Ford is Routh's wife? It would be funny if she got the part. ("Damnit Country!", screamed Routh)

Has anyone suggested Rashida Jones? I saw her mentioned on the blog Racialicious and I'm kinda loving the idea:

I think McAdams is almost like another fanboy casting that could come true; like Henry Cavill and Christian Bale..

I love Rashida. Who else thinks she's super underrated? I mean, she has it all (exotic looks, great persona) but yet, you don't nerds going ga-ga for her when they should.

Yeah. I actually saw them when I was living in LA...at the Bridge about to watch Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. She's quite lovely in person.

And Brandon's as big as he is in the photos.

She's mostly done comedic roles, but I think she's a good actress and I wouldn't mind it. Though I can only imagine the fanboy response.

Octoberist,

I totally agree on McAdams. She did do Sherlock for WB. And she was quite good in that.

Honestly, Biel can't be a damsel in distress. Not saying that that's the Lois character but if you've seen Blade Trinity or the A-Team, she just looks like she could go toe to toe with any dude.

McAdams can be tough as well, but she doesn't come off that way.

But don't you think she's underrated in general? I just think not enough people like her as they should. She is my angel.:hrt:
